Cedar City Best Western RV Park Site Layout and Pricing

From a scale of one to five, I would give this place a one for the following reasons:

The pedestals, water , sewer, are between the RVs. I have never seen such before. This means each has to enter from the opposite direction, facing the opposite direction from the other two next to me when parked. The RVs are very close together, and the picnic table between them is shared for two RVs. My front door is inline with the front door of the RV next to me, with the picnic table between. Quite the opposite from the very roomy Venture RV park in Richfield.

$60.00 per night, but they have many ways to get a 10% discount. I used my VA card and got 10% off. I am staying here for a full seven nights for $360.00, so $51.42 for me with the vet discount (includes taxes).

Even though I will give this place a very low rating, it will still serve my needs fine while I am here.

RV park guests can use all the amenities of the hotel guests. Wash clothes inside the motel, etc.

Don. Do you update any official sites like compendium or whatever in your travels?

I have stayed in a few places like that with entry from opposite directions and paired pedestals and some just had a wye for two connections to the same water hydrant. None of those that I have been in had the shared picnic tables.

One nice thing about here is that it is a good location for everything, A mile walk to HFT, less to many restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

It was only a few years ago that the owner put the RV section in on a left over section of the property behind the hotel,, he had to "upgrade" when Best Western required it and it became a major overhaul of the whole property.. .>>>Dan

It's one of those travel rv park reviews sites. Most reviews I look at are years old.

I choose by Google map ratings.

Campendium is a free campground review site, which many of us use. The other one that I usually leave a review in is now RV Life Campground Reviews, but used to be just RV Campground Reviews, before RV Life acquired them. I have used both and I used to check them both when we were still fulltme.

Thanks, I just joined them. But my norm is to travel around without a plan. For an example, I had no clue I would end up in Utah on this trip when I left Auburn, CA.

The highway less travelled. I will usually start in some direction to somewhere, which can change at any time.

The most ridiculous was the one time, Tom & I left for New Orleans, which is southeast. We went a couple of hundred miles and started talking about Canada. We made a U-Turn and ended up in Kamloops, BC Canada on that trip. I still never have never made it to New Orleans, but have been close to it since then when I went here to visit with Isaac-1. But still never been there. But I hear I am not missing much.

Yep, that's about it. If there is no wind, who knows. I have changed plans in the middle of trips countless times. That is why I rarely make reservations anywhere.

BTW, there is no photo of us on my camera from the waitress who supposedly took our photo at the IHOP this morning. I have no idea what she did wrong.

I’ve found many such sites. Most parks call them ‘Buddy Sites’ because they are popular with groups that travel together. The one shared table thing is just BW being cheap, as is the densely packed sites.

Went to one (Casa De Fruta RV park in Hollister, Ca) where I was so close to my neighbor (and friend) that neither of us could extend our awnings. It made a cozy little area for us to play ukuleles and guitars!

Had there been a stranger in that spot it would have been different.

I am not too picky, as I am not the type to stay around the RV anyway. At least not for long.

However, I have had some nice BS sessions with my neighbors here at the shared picnic table, which was kinda nice after meeting them. They are here for several months. They live in Las Vegas and they come here every year to escape the LV summer heat.

Here the elevation is just under 6K feet, so not too hot.

Las Vegas will reach 111° F. today.

Here in Cedar City the high today is nice cool 96° F. And this is the hottest day of the week. Las Vegas will be over 100° F. all of next week.

Well, believe it or not, I just make a Reservation (on-line) for the little six slot RV park in Baker, NV for six nights. The Great Basin Desert RV Park. The one behind the gas station in the heart of Baker, just a few miles south of Lehman Caves. No choice but to make a reservation if I want to stay there.

This one (full hookups, back in only):

They have a BS price and a real price. The BS price is $40.00 per night. The true price is $52.80 per night. They have a big fat "service fee" and I added in the sales tax. My CC was billed for $316.77 for six nights=$52.795 per night for the non-BS price. I do not know if their service fee changes for the number of nights. Perhaps a single night there is very expensive if the "service fee" stays the same.

I will be on my way home after here, with the stop for six nights there, First to Reno then to Auburn. Or if it gets late, I will stay at the Gold Run rest stop (CA, a very nice rest stop for west bound) overnight so I will get to Auburn in the morning when it is light. Gold Run is around 30 miles from Auburn.

If they didn't charge that "service fee" then they will simply jack up the price.

But at least then, it will look honest.

Perhaps they want it to be more expensive to stay for a short time, if that fee is always the same amount.

Anyway, the entire world runs on BS--usually green BS.

But I try to look at the brighter side, BS is the one resource we will never run out of. It is everywhere.
