I had missed the 10/15/06 80% in all the presentations I sat through but now that the date is here shouldn't we be celebrating as a nation ? If one believes the information that was used to justify this major reduction in sulfur, it would seem that the press would go out of its way to run Breaking News type stories to rejoice in its achievement and looking forward to 2010. I haven't heard or seen a word in the mainstream media and e-group or forum comments are arguably more bitching about increased cost, reduced mileage, etc rather than the projectted air improvement. Just a thought.

As RV'ers we mostly stay away from areas where air pollution is a visible problem, so perhaps we feel the pain more than seeing the gain.  Sure, it's a global problem, but our wallets are a lot closer to us than the ozone layer.  :p  Besides, bitching is a time honored response to government programs, no matter how well intended.
