Getting a little too chilly to sit around campfire up here. Decided to download a couple Neflix
films to a Chromebook, hook it up to an HDMI port on TV for evening entertainment. We're
heading way out in the middle of nowhere. No tv, or cell service.
Get the computer screen to display, fire up Netflix, get sound, but black screen on both
the chromebook and tv. Have restarted both, tried 3 different HDMI cables from 12" to 36".
No dice. Not one with a lot of patience for computer crap. Thinking we'll bring downfills
and build a bonfire.
Update: Buddy just told me Netflix blocks HDMI display of computer screen when using app. Guess I'm hosed as no signal to stream website.

Open the Chrome browser and in the lower right hand corner of the screen is some options, one of which is 'Cast screen'. That might work for you.

If your TV has a VGA connection, use that. If not, tray a VGA to HDMI adapter. You can try screen casting as someone else suggested but not all TVs will work with casting. Chuck

Gave up the Chromebook idea. Sitting at a campground with 1 tiny bar of service. Trying different things. Get 20GB hotspot monthly. Trying to stream is like watching the buffer wheel indefinitely.
Enough signal for email and browsing. Used our local channel's app to watch news on phone. Played fine. No buffering.
Told Gramma let's buy a cheap smart TV, and cast the phone. No cables, streaming gizmos, and maybe no hassles by trying to use what we have(OLD)
Lectonics ain't like old cars. They don't improve with age. Much like us old curmudgeons 😆
