Hi there -
We're looking to buy in the next twelve months, and are leaning towards a Class A now (started with FW thinking).  We haven't seen any Class A's that have table and chairs, as opposed to dinettes.  Is anybody aware of any that might have that?  And if not - is it possible to modify?  My husband is 6'4" and 300 lbs - there hasn't been a dinette or restaurant booth yet that he's comfortable at...

Also - recliners?  We like the recliners in the FW we looked at, same question I guess.  Any Class A with recliners, and/or are mods possible?

Thanks -
Michele

you didn't say new or used but here's one with both...http://www.rvtrader.com/listing/1999-REXHALL-AERBUS-3550BSL-100065555

Our Beaver has a table attached to the wall (of course you wouldn't want a totally free standing table) and two chairs with two matching fold up chairs in the closet, room to seat 4 close but two very comfortably.

We also have a couch/hide a bed on one side and recliner on the other. The sofa could easily be removed and a recliner, actually a pair of recliners put in. That would take away the second bed, but if that wasn't an issue then it'd work well.

Look up the floorplans and I think you'll find many similar to ours.

My wife and I are are 12 months from purchasing a Thor, the Challenger series has a table.  We are looking at the 2014 Thor Challenger 37GT.  The king bed option also has a table.

My RV is a '96 Adventurer Class A - 34RQ. As opposed to a dinette it came with drop leaf table with two swiveling chairs, plus two more folding chairs that I keep stowed. It also came with a barrel chair that I removed and replaced with the recliner you see in the pic attached.

Have since converted the drop leaf to my office - am a solo RV running a business so was needing a table vs. a dinette for that reason vs. more room for an eating area.

Michele-

Most Class A new or used offered within the last 15 years or so has/had the option of either a booth dinette or some type of table/chair arrangement.  Sometimes the table is a fold-out integrated into a wall storage unit (designed more for 2, but often expandable to squeeze 4), sometimes it is a standalone table for 4.  When I was looking for a Class A diesel from the early 2000 vintage, I found about a 50/50 split between booths and tables.  I suppose some of the more budget minded coaches may only offer the booth choice.  Just keep looking.

My 2000 Georgie Boy Cruise-master that I bought in 2011 used came with a table and 4 chairs.

The slide has a most uncomfortable hide-a-bed.  That is coming out and a small recliner is going in as well as a corner computer table.

I think I'm correct in saying most of the original Monaco line Class As (includes Safari and Beaver) came with a table and chairs.  You didn't sayi if you're looking at new or used.  Maybe it's just where you're located but out here in the west I think we see fewer booths.  The ones with booths tend to have sleeping for more people because the booth makes into a bed.  We often say that Class As are designed for couples (table & chairs with a sofa that opens for extra sleeping) while a Class C is made for families, some of which can sleep six or eight.

Some people have reported here in the RV Forum that they've removed the booth and replaced it with table and chairs or a desk or whatever.  I lot of us find booths uncomfortable because the seat backs are so straight.

Our Beaver has a Corian-topped table with a sturdy base that is attached to the floor, not the wall.  We also have a fairly large leaf that can make the table large enough to easily seat four.  We leave the leaf in all the time because my DW uses the table for her sewing machine; we have plenty of room to get around it even when the slides are in.  When we had the floor replaced last year we moved the table a few inches further towards the living area so she has a bit more room to work.  We long ago replaced the ugly, rather uncomfortable chairs with more comfortable ones that actually took up less room.

We  replaced the dinette in our 2001 Tradewinds with a table and chair. Custom RV Interiors in Vancouver, WA used the table from the dinette to create a credenza that allowed the table to slide out from the wall to make room for four. The additional storage of the credenza was great.

I hate dinettes, so I had the dealer remove the dinette on my brand new Tioga Ranger.  I put down a rubber pad and a rug and put my old leather recliner from my condo that I sold.  The rug and rubber padding allows it to sink in a bit, and so it really almost never moves while I am driving.

I did put the dinette into storage for when I sell this someday.  I love having the recliner.  I will say a lot of people told me I was crazy and that I would have to fasten it down or it would slide all over.  It has only moved once when I made an extremely hard stop to avoid hitting something on a freeway.  Hope to never have to stop that hard again!!

When they removed the dinette, I was left with some holes in the floor that are covered by the rug.  I also ended up with a few holes in the wall, but I used some of them for a magaziine rack and plan to add a small cupboard with the other holes since i saved all the screws.

So you don't even have to buy a special RV recliner.  The chairs on a table and chair set might move, however, but someone else can answer that.  I think some of them fold up.

Our '98 Winnebago has a table & 4 chairs. 2 of the chairs are collapsible and store under the bed. The table has a folding leaf.
