class c advice

i'm sure this has been asked a time or two, but since i'm new at this, we'll give it a try again. my wife and i are going to buy a used class c rv to do some exploring (getting the empty nest syndrome and liking it). other than the basic personal preferences, what can you experienced travelers tell a newbie about what to look for and avoid in a used rv?
