I've been logging on to this site for quite some time and today, I was totally frustrated with that ridiculous Cloudfare "are you a bot?" crap. It prevented me from logging on to this site after weeks and or months of my viewing the posts. WTF????
You guys need to get your stuff together!!!
Hoping you get the message!!
Safe travels and all the best.

It's not forum management it's cloudflair and I totally agree.. Sometimes Microsoft Edge will let me in when chrome won't. Though lately (Last couple of months) I've not had issues.

Some of the commercial sites I visit (my bank) are behind cloud flair and major PITA.

Cloudflare - down again moments ago -

In defense - think of the world of the Internet - used to be free and open, then hackers/scammer/criminals showed up, then everyone shut down their guest WIFI and every single one of use has turned to apps/methods to hide/protect all our data and identities, and the world of protection blossomed. Someplace, there is a programmer at CloudFlare that went to take a desperate pee break and forgot to hit "Return" after he finished the latest security update and the system stays hung up on "Are Your Sure Y/N?" as the programmer wanders down the hallways seeking relief... Well, maybe that's what happens... maybe.

Cloudflare is a big aid in keeping websites safe & secure, but it's a huge and complex thing in its own right and sometimes it screws up. An individual website using Cloudflare doesn't really have much, if any, control over it and the occasional hiccup.

Sorry LtDan.. just went thru the same doggone exercise with the cloudfare verification process and gave up. I left the site and upon returning was able to get thru. This all happened after I logged in.
VERY ANNOYING!!!!!
Safe travels and all the best.

I was a computer programmer for 40 years. I won't use anything but Cloudflare DNS on all my devices since the first attack years ago.

DNS is like an address book that directs you to places like the rvforum.net actual numerical internet address.

Over the last several years there have been multiple internet outages caused by cyber attacks shutting down all but 5 of the 13 most common DNS servers.

There have also been many cases of DNS spoofing where people's personal info was stolen by sending you to fake websites.

Cloudflare was down once for 62 minutes in 2025 caused by an internal programming error. But it is the safest DNS server and has never actually been hacked.

I've stayed with it since it is the fastest internet connection. Very rarely have I had the authentication above come up. But when it does I know I'm being protected by Cloudflare :)

Thank you for the good info. Cloudfare doesn't seem to like my VPN or anti-virus software. Guess I can deal with a bit of frustration in exchange for good protection.;)
