Time to renew our Coach-net account and noticed that they apparently offer a discount for tires. I called but I guess given the weekend the nice but completely useless person I spoke to advised me to call back Monday and speak to a sales person.

I will call Monday but being the impatient type thought I'd ask here if anyone has used this CN tire discount? Sounds like it's limited to certain brands and once you sign up they handle it all. Given we're ready to replace tires all around, I'm wondering if anyone has used this discount?

EDIT: I just now re-read you post and you said Coach Net. I was thinking FMCA which is the program I used and described below. I suspect that CN is subscribed to the same discount program(s) that FMCA is. In the case of the Michelin Advantage program it is national and works the same way, no matter who offers you access to the program.

VVVV this is in reference to the FMCA tire program VVVV
I did back in 2017 I believe it was. In my case I was using the Michelin Advantage program made available to me thru FMCA. You call just before you get the tires, and place your credit card info with the tire company (Michelin corporate). Then the participating dealer installs the tires, does a bunch of paperwork, and sends it in. Michelin buys the tires back from the dealer, and then sells them to you at a highly discounted price, and charges you whatever the dealer charged for stems, mount, and balance. After 30 days the credit card info is purged from their system. You pay the dealer nothing, but you do want to find out what their charges are that will be passed on to you, other than the tires themselves (the dealer will not know your price for the tires) In my case, the man in the office that I dealt with actually was somewhat familiar with the pricing, enough to tell me that I was buying the tires for less than he could buy them from Michelin for.

I bought from Atlanta Commercial Tire, the largest tire distributor in Georgia. Their tire installation facility is on the end of the tire warehouse, and the guy I dealt with said they had one person in the office dedicated to doing the Michelin Advantage program paperwork. He said they did (at that time) about 3 RVs a week plus all the semis they do every day, they are a busy place.

If you deal with someone, make sure they are extremely familiar with the Michelin Advantage paperwork and program and don't screw it up.

Coach-Net claims "up to 15%" discount on Michelin & Goodyear tires.

Presumably that is off MSRP, but high-volume tire stores may offer discounted prices as their every day price. It often pays to shop around! But a tire-buying service avoids the need to shop and probably gets you a decent price, even if not the cheapest possible in your area. For some people, that's worth the price.

Note that you can get similar service from online discounters like Simpletire.com and motorhometires.com . They supply the tire at a discounted price and arrange for installation at a shop near you.

Great info-- thanks much. I'll look into the options you referenced.

I always use the same local tire shop. They will match most sale prices and discounts.
I approached them about Goodyear Endurance for my toy hauler. They gave me a price, and then i showed the the price from Walmat. They matched it didn't charge me for mounting or balancing. Sometimes it pays to shop at local privately owned places.
