Coachnet price increase?

Just getting ready to renew Coachnet and see the price is $169. Seem to remember it was less than this ($149?) last period.

I thought my CN cost me $250.00.

I just checked, says only for the first year, and $150.00 to renew.

Makes sense, to compensate for people who only buy their service when they suspect they have a developing problem. If they have too many service calls the first year they can drop them, and reduce costs for others who have a good record.

Yeah, I also figured that has to be the reason.

This is all good news to me because I didn't know the price went down in the 2nd year, I thought they wanted $250.00 per year. I recently joined CN.

And don't forget to renew, as I did one year! After a couple of months past my renewal date, I had to pay the original $250 again, but it is still well worth the money, if only for the technical advice and referral service.

We’ve used them twice since April and didn’t see any difference in their service… has always been pretty stellar. From an article found online:
“Blue Compass closed the acquisition on Feb. 8. Coach-Net will continue to operate as a separate business supporting all customers of Coach-Net under its relationships with OEMs, RV rental partners, dealers and individuals.”

I only asked if anyone has used CN after the Blue Compass takeover because like most RV mega dealers BC has sketchy reviews. My only experience with them is my local dealer that was part of RVOne sold out to BC. They used to sell propane at $3.99 a gal since they opened in the mid 2000s. This past Spring I called to check out their propane price and it was up to $4.99 gal. I got my motorhome tank fill at U-Haul for $3.49 a gal.

Having worked at an oil company i learned that pricing petroleum based products is amazingly complex. Companies have to compete on price but not appear to gouge or collude on pricing, which leads to weird things happening on price at the sales locations.

Change in ownership may have affected pricing if Blue Compass brought in a substantially different pricing model but it could also have nothing to do with them. Not an easy thing to find out

I wouldn’t be too quick to judge the quality of a dealership pre and post them be acquired by Blue Compass based solely on propane price. Early reviews I’ve read and heard first hand seem to be generally favorable for Blue Compass. (But, by same token, I’m not going to be too quick to judge… need a LOT more first hand feedback.)

They (Blue Compass) have been quoted in multiple sources saying they have zero intention of charging ANYTHING regarding CoachNet… I haven’t seen a single report indicating otherwise.

L&C, is that's good to hear. CoachNet has too good a reputation and is depended upon by many to have an ownership takeover change it.
