Coleman Mach8 (with strip heat) NOT HEATING

We just bought this RV and have only used the heat a few times. It had a bad smell and now it just blows cold air.

On the manual, it says:

heating-cooling air conditioner models, if all electrical power to the unit is normal and the fan runs but you never get any heated air, then the electrical plug to the heating unit should be checked for a secure connection. If this does not correct the malfunction, the heating thermostat or limit switch may be faulty.

Trying to figure out what the problem is exactly.

Have checked the plug?

Bad smell sounds like something burned. Check the plug and cord and look for any type of damage on the heat coils.

I can’t see anything from the inside of the vehicle. Will have to open it up to check coils.
