I think the availability of free testing varies. There are at least 10 sites within 20 miles of me that do free drive-through tests. However they all require an appointment, and not one of them had availability for the next 48 hours when I looked. Of course that was during the days heading up to Thanksgiving, so there were lots of people looking for tests.
