I had my Moderna shot yesterday, my shoulder is a bit tender but no other adverse effects. I know some are skeptical, some are afraid of needles and vaccine and some like a friends ex flat out refuse to do as they are told but we all need to do our part.

I've had my first shot, and no side effects other than a surprisingly sore arm. It was tender to the touch for 3 days. No big deal, but I had never had a reaction to a shot like that before.

I am scheduled for my second round of the Pfizer vaccine Thursday morning, round one resulted in a slightly sore arm, just enough so I could not sleep on that side for a night or two, and a little fatigue for a couple of days. We will see how the second round goes, and hope for the best.

As to the seriousness of Covid, at least 15 people I knew to some degree have died of it in the last year,in two cases this included husbands and wives who both caught it at the same time, one where they died a few hours apart, one where the husband lingered on a ventilator for 5 months. Most of these people were in their 70's a few in their 80's most were also still active. The youngest was a 57 year old 2nd cousin of mine who was the mayor of a nearby small town. Sure some of them had other health issues, which may have contributed, but others not so much. Most recently I found out over Easter lunch that my ex-brother in law's brother died of Covid a few weeks ago, well technically he died of pneumonia likely related to Covid, as he had been hospitalized with Covid, sent home and died of pneumonia the next week. For those comparing this to H1N1, I knew one person that died of it, he was 42 at the time, drove himself to the emergency room after being sick for a few days, and died less than 4 hours later.

Last night I was talking with an old friend of mine (we have know each other since we were young children), though we don't speak often these days as he lives 2 time zones away. The text scheduling my second round of the vaccine came through while I was talking to him, and when I told him, he commented that I was crazy to get such an experimental vaccine, he buys into all sort of conspiracy theories claiming the true purpose of the vaccine is population control, etc. I told him I feel it is a risk, but not as much of a risk as Covid is. The amazing thing is his otherwise fairly helathy father in law died of Covid a few month ago, and he still thinks it is crazy to take the vaccine.

We are due for our second shot. We had no reaction to the first shot other than slightly sore arms.

Both Renae and I are pretty sure that we had Covid19 and recovered from it.
I felt lucky because I experienced all the symptoms and I have several medical conditions that could have resulted in a far worse outcome.

She had a slight amount of soreness and I has no reaction to either shot.

Maybe the lack of a reaction in our cases was related to already having the antibodies after recovering from it.

10 hours post-2nd shot. Sore arm...not horrible...just enough to be annoying, LOL. Saw a coworker at the vax site I have not seen in over a year (we're all working from home still). It was nice to catch up.

Interesting that I only notice one AZ and one J&J shot mentioned here. Are those distributing more slowly?

Likely, when I was in getting my first Pfizer shot 3 weeks ago someone was asking about the J&J vaccine, and one of the nurses giving the shots said no one in town had it yet,but that it had just arrived a day or so earlier in a neighboring city about 50 miles away. In my town of about 10,000 people there are 3 places distributing the vaccine 2 are using the Pfizer vaccine and 1 the Moderna, out of the people that I know that have received the vaccine so far most have received the Pfizer, though the Moderna vaccine was available here on a limited basis for about 2 weeks before the Pfizer vaccine was available to any non-healthcare workers.

Yes because they were late comers in getting FDA emergency approval and then released. Moderna & Pfizer have been distributed longer.

My wife,a very close friend, and myself all got the first Pfizer dose on the same day.
All of us only minor discomfort at the injection site.
2nd dose, I was fine, again only slight soreness at the injection site.
My wife was really fatigued and achy for about 24 hours. The friend was down for about 36 hours, really sore, fever, fatigue etc. He said it came on really fast, and stopped equally as fast.
I tested positive five days later.
My daughters entire family of five tested positive. My wife is their daycare provider so we tested. I was positive, wife tested negative. I only had minor symptoms for 2 days.Daughter's family the same.
Three different doctors told me the vaccine was what kept me from getting sick.

I finally made it up to Bishop, CA yesterday. I called and got an appointment Friday for the J&J one and done shot. Could have gotten an appointment for yesterday afternoon, but decided on Friday.

The numbers here, while better than other countries, are still high and it was not to long ago our Covid infections, hospitalizations and deaths were the highest in the world. If a large part of our population were not so selfish and smarter, our numbers would be so much better and closer to back to normal. Frankly I fail to understand why getting the vaccine is a problem, after all we have had polio, measles & mumps vaccines, not to mention the high numbers of people who get a flu vaccine yearly.

Well it is now an hour and a half since my second round of Covid vaccine (Pfiizer) and other than several typos while typing this all seems ok. Though I did note this one hurt a bit more initially.

The biggest problem with people refusing to get a vaccine is that it makes it much more difficult to reach herd immunity, therefore the problem lasts a lot longer.

How long was it between your vaccination & when you tested positive, the 5 days? Did you have the virus when you got the vaccine? How weird.

We had both Pfizer shots. First shot made my arm a bit sore. 2nd shot, we had no reaction.

Still masked up as we spend such little time in public places, Why not?

Preparing for COVID 20. Until then, shedding fat, walking 4 miles a day.

Far cry better than the military Anthrax, 5 dose round of shots I took back in the early 2000s those felt like they were injecting gasoline in your system.

If you don't have anything informative/constructive to say, perhaps just refrain...

There's enough of this crap floating around on Facebook. The topic here is simply seeking input re. reactions if any from those who have had the vaccine.

Thank you.

I started this thread to respectfully get some interesting anecdotal reports of reactions to the vaccine, because I'm a curious person, and because others may find the info useful to assuage any concerns they may have.

If anyone cares to post further disinformation memes and trolling, kindly start your own thread. Thanks.
