I am.purchasing my first RV. I can go with a 2024 Crossroads Cruiser 28BbH or a 2023 Grand Design Imagine 28BBH for the same money. Cruiser is from a dealer and Grand Design is a Private seller

What are you going to pull it around with? One of the biggest mistakes first time buyers make is trying to tow with an underrated tow vehicle, unlike the TV ads it is not safe to tow a railroad box car with an SUV, etc.

When purchasing a used RV, the condition of the RV is the most important thing. I suggest that you have whichever one that seems best professionally inspected by either a certified pre-purchase RV inspector or by a mobile RV technician. If the dealer selling the cruiser tells you that they have inspected it, ask them how long they will guarantee everything if you buy from them.

Just don't trust a dealer's inspection as they have ZERO incentive to find show stopper issues. If you ever get an inspection report for a used RV that

We have a Crossroads Cruiser and it's been relatively trouble free for the year we've owned it. Here are the problems we've had:

1) We drove 400+ miles to spend a month on the coast of Texas and once there we noticed the screws were coming out of several spots holding the awning on. Come to find out, they used screws less than 1" long that with very little in/out of the awning had come loose (4 screws, I believe). I called a repair guy who came out on-site and replaced the screws with pop-rivets like the factory should have done. I believe the charge was about $125. I then contacted Crossroads and asked about reimbursement. By the time the month passed, and we got home, we had a full reimbursement from Crossroads.

2) I feel they are a bit sloppy on their caulking/silicone seals. Around each light and the backup camera, there is well over a quarter inch (and in some cases a half inch) "smear" of silicone. It's extremely unprofessional and amateurish. (see photo)

From the factory it came with cheap Chinese tires (why do manufacturers keep doing that to us) that had zero name recognition. I replaced them the next day with Carlisle/Carlstar which I have had great success with on previous RVs and on a 16' flatbed trailer.

It has ridden well - we took a 2700-mile trip to seven states spending the most time in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains and had zero problems.

All in all - we're pleased. It has taken some adjustment coming from a 42' Cardinal to a 31' Cruiser, but it sure is easier to back into tight RV parks.
