Monaco Knight 2002 -- my grid heater on the Cummins motor has quit working. Main power is present at contactors, but no signal coming in and I can't find the ECM to do more troubleshooting. I see on the wiring diagram where all the dash indicators, cruise control, throttle, etc are connected to the ECM so it should be in the front of the coach -- I've looked behind panels and under dash, but so far no joy.

I have a Cummins C8.3,, and the heater has not been functioning for many years now,, I have been told by my favorite Cummins authority that it is not needed, and I have found in the last 12 years he is right.. Mine starts in any weather or temperature so I don't fret over it..>>>Dan

Most ECM's are located near the motor, but each mfgr has their own plan. I think my grid heater gets power from the starter solenoid, but I'd have to check the online wiring diagram.

Good morning, the ECM is bolted to the cold side of the engine (opposite side of the exhaust), there are two connectors, one for engine components and one for chassis connections, engine connector is the one that will have the signal wires for your Grid Heater. If you send me your engine serial number I am pretty sure that I can get the pin-outs to you.
