I just looked at my Local 10 Day Forecast for my neck of the Desert, here in West Texas.  I am on the northern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert.

I see in the 10 day forecast.  We are due to hit 100F 3x (No Joy in that).  Around these parts we just hope and pray things don't start heating up too early.  I was out for necessities yesterday and my car was showing 97F for a outside temp.

How are things shaping/ heating up in your neck of the woods?

We lived in San Antonio for 6 years (93-99). One February it got 100F and another February we had the worst ice storm in recent history.  We now live in Delaware and we have had an extremely mild winter. No snow and very few days below freezing.

Here in the Florida Keys it has been around 90 each day and we usually have to turn on both A/C's at around four o"clock in the afternoon.
But we love sitting in our nature made sandy bottom jacuzzi in the middle of the mangroves in the 85 degree water that has a natural tidal current.
It is also a perfect place to do self isolation, since we keep it a secret

I'm waiting out the Coronavirus in Pahrump, NV and the heat is starting here.  After about a month in the 60s - 70s it's 90 today and gradually rising to 98 on Wednesday before cooling off to the high 80s next weekend.  Of course it's a dry heat - current humidity is 13%.

Pahrump is an hour West of Las Vegas and about halfway between there and Death Valley.  We're 700 ft higher than Las Vegas and on the other side of the currently snow covered Mt Charleston and the Spring Mtns.  Pahrump temperatures are usually about 5 degrees cooler than Las Vegas, they're due to hit 103 on Wednesday and then cool down to the 90s over the weekend.

In Death Valley it's 103 today, rising to 110 on Wednesday and then cooling off to 100 on Saturday and 98 on Sunday.  They're 2700 ft. lower than us.

We had a bit of a heat wave here in western Louisiana a couple of weeks ago with highs into the low 90's a day or two, since then it has been more pleasant out, even downright cool a few days.  Our 10 day forecast is calling for a high in the 80's every day, with highs of 88-89 towards the end of the 10 day forecast window.  This is actual temperature highs, with heat index it will be hitting low to mid 90's.

p.s. this excludes all the tornadoes lately, twice in the last week or so we have had tornadoes hit just a few miles north of us.  Most recently a couple of nights ago an EF-2 which was on the ground for a 38 mile stretch passing through mostly undeveloped area (timber land), went by about 10 miles north of us.

+100 for next six days in the Phoenix area then a cool down to 96-98 degrees for 3 days

We were in AZ in June 2018.  I remember leaving Grand Canyon and how cool it was, going thru Flagstaff then later in the Day the temp was BLAZING in Phoenix.

AZ has some beautiful places.  Going back soon.

I know Isaac is from where they invented HUMIDITY.  No Thanks!  ;D

Love me some Desert.

Come on now, what is wrong with a little moisture in the air.  It is always so fun to watch those people from the southwest brag about their 118 degree days, until they get down here and experience a Louisiana summer day with highs of 101F and 97% humidity.  The key difference is when you are out west on one of those 115F+ days it is somewhat tolerable in the shade, here it is just darker.

Isaac, ABSOLUTELY!... I remember going to Lufkin (Far East TX) to my friends area and was like what Planet am I on?  3 t-shirt a day sweat fest.  I was miserable!

Previously to my trip to far east TX I rarely got out of the desert.

I do remember my friend coming to my home town and was complaining the air was so dry.  LOL.

I will agree with you, I will take 105-110F above 90F with 90 % Humidity any day.

Like living in a Sauna where you are at.  Army sent me to alot of Humid places over my years with them.  I just had to "embrace the suck" of the Thick Air.

I saw your hydroponics pics.  Nice. What was the size of your container holding the pump water?

The trick down here is stay out of the sun!  The wind coming off the mountains from Mexico, make it somewhat tolerable.

Take care my Friends.

The water reservoir is a pair of linked 27 gallon heavy duty totes https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZNLLP5 (amazing the price has went up by $10 since February).  The water pumps out of one, then returns to the other, they are bridged together was a short section of 3/4 inch PVC, this helps allow any sediment to settle in the first tank, and not get into the intake filter strainer for the pump.  With the current consumption rate I have to mix up and refill nutrient about every 3-4 days.  Note I also had to paint the lids, as the yellow lids let too much light in, which can cause algae growth in the reservoir.

Isaac,

I am going to do something like that.  I am going to find that link again and save your pics.  I would love to do some tomato plants.

What are your best vegetable successes with your outside grow?

What is your pump size?
