Has anybody used one of the Curt Rockerballs? I am downsizing my trailer and not needing the heavy duty weight transfer hitch setup anymore. The new trailer, NO BO 20.2 Beast Mode, is around 6500# GVWR and 570# hitch weight. I was looking for a new hitch and 2 5/16" ball and came upon this.

Any pros or cons?

Don't know how valid its claimed benefits are, but it's only the ball part of the hitch. You also need to have a ball mount to put it if you are discarding your previous WD hitch, which had both a ball mount & an adjustable ball.

It's not obvious to me that you no longer need that "heavy duty" hitch. The new trailer has it least a 650 lb tongue weight (not that 570 you referred to) and more likely 700-750 lb. 10% of the loaded trailer weight is considered a minimum tongue weight to avoid trailer sway. Whether your tow vehicle would benefit from a WD hitch depends on the tow vehicle, which you didn't identify.

Gary, you are correct. I will still need a ball mount and the hitch weight is higher with Beast Mode.

I was planning on keeping the friction type anti-sway unit attached to a simple Curt ball mount with Curt add on adapter. I haven't used the weight distribution bars with the my previous 7450# trailer since I replaced the F150 with a F250. I will try towing with & without the WD bars before I change completely. Either way I was just wondering if replacing the ball would be worth it. I never heard of the Rollerball before. Thanks for the input.
