Now that everybody knows what's going on, are there any ideas on what to do to make it look better?
After 7 years, I would venture to say that the decals are done shrinking.
I was wondering if there are any decal tape products out there to apply over the edges within the same color palate.

Also, what is the recommended process to remove existing decals?

The biggest lie at every RV salemen will tell is  "Our new decal won't shrink."

After 2 to 3 years every brand I've looked at has started to shrink and peel.  UV rays are murder on these things.

To remove the decals check a parts store and get plastic razor blades.  A heat gun loosen the glue and you can peel them off.
Don't use a metal razor blade or putty knife as it will dig into the finish and you'll have nicks.
Someone suggested using a stripping wheel the the auto paint shop use to remove pin stripping and other small decals (Dealer Decals) without damaging the finish. I didn't think with the volume of decals that it would work too well.  After removing the decals there with be a film of glue. I used paint reducer to remove that.  A good wash and a coat of wax is needed after that.  You'll still be able to see where the decals were.  That needs to be buffed out.  To do that right ain't the easiest thing to do and you can burn the finish.

It is a pretty labor intense to remove all of them.  I just kept peeling the loose one off my 1999 5er.  Every year I keep thinking about have some new graphics put back on.  Stopped at a couple of places that does race cars and they would not even give me a ball park price.  That kind of tells me it's pricey.

When I worked at the local sign shop anything made by the Avery company we had to replace after about four to five years due to the shrinking. They no longer use this company's product. Check with the local sign shop for ideas...
