Sat & Sun, June 6 & 7, the Delta Strummers held our Spring concerts celebrating the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration Of Independence; The program included a number of appropriate patriotic songs. Audience participation is always encouraged.

The concert was also dedicated to the memory of our recently-deceased Music Director. His surviving spouse, often our MC (she has such a clear, distinct speaking voice), graciously volunteered to be our MC for these concerts.

This season we added a drummer (one of the existing ukulele players), which added emphasis to appropriate songs. One of the young ladies in the Band volunteered to dance a Hula she'd choreographed - during the playing/singing of a song from the Islands; It's been a few years since we had a regular Hula dancer.

I'd been fighting a bronchial infection for several weeks, and also had a really 'raw' throat over the weekend, so I have no idea how I got through both concerts and sang a solo. But the audience was kind, and nobody threw rotten fruit.

58 Band members signed up to perform. Several Band members are also RVers, although I haven't been able to get together with them for a "ukulele rally".

So when will the video be out?
When I have time to finish editing. Usually, due to travel and other stuff, it's 1-2 weeks after a concert. Other stuff that's going on right now may keep us here, which will let me get to it sooner. Unfortunately, we had a couple of snafus with videos this time around:
  • A glitch resulted in no video for Saturday.
  • Sunday's videos have an audio hum, something I've never had with this or any other camera, this or any other mic', this or any other venue.
I'm in troubleshooting mode, and will likely need to find/use a software fix that doesn't just filter out that frequency/band.

Well, I jinked myself. I went to the Dr. yesterday about my prolonged cough; Yep pneumonia; antibiotics and rest. Drat! Anyway I hope you stay well, I'm looking forward to watching that video.
Ouch Ray, hope the meds kick in soon.

Spent some time on this, and was able to remove the hum in my video editing software (Pinnacle Studio Supreme). There are other audio fix tools, but Pinnacle will do it in parallel with my other edits.

I have to work on one of Chris' projects, and hopefully I can then start edits on Strummers videos.

Looks like I switched the Sennheiser mic' low end filter to the wrong position. Sennheiser has a different name for it, and I think I confused myself (easily done).

Good that you figured it out Tom. Looking forward to seeing the video.

Pneumonia? That’s not something to take lightly. Take it easy until you’re all better.

I finally got around to uploading videos from the Delta Strummers Spring concerts to You Tube. A big thanks to Chris for taking the videos, quite a challenge with the 'flat-floor' format at this venue.

The playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeh_huxaUFjU

I need to re-edit some of the clips to solve some audio issues, including the low-end hum that didn't get removed as I expected.

Overall, I'm disappointed with the results, especially the audio.

We added a drummer and a hula dancer this season.
