Dicor Roof Replacement Sealant Used as Lap Sealant

Hello All,
So it was time for new Lap sealant on the roof of my 2017 “Cyclone”. I quickly ordered replacement self leveling sealant on “Amazon” and began stripping the old sealant away. I ordered 6 tubes and they came promptly. Only after resealing with the 4th tube did I realize the sealant was “Roof Replacement” self leveling sealant. I continued on with the process, because rain is due in 12 hours. QUESTION: Will the roof sealant work as the regular lap sealant? It seems to be self leveling and covering like the regular roof sealant?
Will I have to remove this and start all over?? .
P.S. Dicor brand BTW!!

I suspect it will work just fine. Might even work better.
But ask Dicor to be sure.

It would have helped if you identified the specific brand & product you bought so we could check into it. I looked on Amazon and found several brands other than Dicor and they all claimed to be "self-leveling lap sealant". I see no reason to worry about the one you chose. You would use the same lap sealant product whether you are replacing a roof or repairing it.

Dicor technical support is very helpful. With tube in hand, you can call them and discuss this with technical support and see what they say. Its a 99% probability you will have no problems if it covered the joints. Most people way over do sealant. I use lots of blue masking tape to keep from making a mess. I don't coat the roof or whatever for a couple of inches from the joint I am sealing, usually no more than a half inch or 3/4 inch. Pull the tape just as the sealant begins to skin over.

Dicor self-leveling lap sealant is formulated to adhere to a wide range of surfaces, including EPDM, TPO, and PVC membranes, as well as aluminum, mortar, wood, vinyl, galvanized metal, fiberglass, and concrete. It is UV-stabilized to prevent deterioration and discoloration and will not stain the roofing material to which it is applied. The sealant remains flexible after curing, allowing it to accommodate roof movement and thermal expansion.

The one thing it does not adhere to is silicone. So everyone out there listening, do NOT ever use silicone on your roof or siding.

Are you referring to the read band around the top stating "roof replacement"? You did not make a mistake, you bought the correct sealant.
To alleviate your concerns, visit Self-Leveling Lap Sealants - Dicor Products
and use the "ask Rudy" chat your questions, include the stock number on the tube.
