I have a CV950 Dirt Devil Central Vac in our camper.  It had been working fine, until last week.  I plug the hose in, and nothing happens.
I pulled the wall mount inlet, jump the two wires, and the vacuum comes to life.
I cross the inside "button" contacts where the hose goes with a dime, and the vacuum comes to life.
I plug the hose into the basement inlet, and the vacuum comes to life.
I plug the hose in inside the camper again, nothing.
Any suggestions???

I sent an e mail to Dirt Devil Monday morning.  So far, no response.
I called Tuesday, and their menu took me straight to voice mail.  I left a message, but no call back yet.

There's a good chance that the place you plug in either is corroded (not really rust) and needs a light burnishing, or the spring-loaded contacts aren't making good contact. I've had that happen a time or two.

The outlet we have works when the door is opened, the vacuum starts. It doesn't rely on contacts like a home vac outlet.

I did notice the replacement part is a switch type.  Open the cover, vacuum goes on.  Mine is the pin type. Insert the hose, vacuum goes on.  Larry may have my solution.  I will try a bit of emery cloth and see what happens.
