Do you have $471,465.00?

's If you do, you have your fair share of USA money.

See here.

"Fair Share" is a term used extensively to justify unfairness. For example, my grandparents were 1st gen in US. They both worked 2 jobs to provide for the family, and to get ahead a bit. No fancy cars or vacations. My dad started his own business where he worked at least 50 hrs per week to provide. I started working for him around 12 and got my first outside job when I was legally able to do so. On two occasions worked 2 jobs, once to get enough money for my first house and years later to help out with the bills during a time where I was laid off due to the 90's economy. For the last 20 years or so I have consistently averaged around 45 hrs/week at my regular job.

Now let's look at another scenario...lets say my grandparents came here, got signed up for welfare, food stamps, rental assistance, etc. and decided that "America will provide because I am entitled to live the American Dream". Then lets say that attitude continued all the way through to my generation. Would it be "Fair" to expect that I would have the same net value as I do now? Further, would it be "Fair" for me to carry those who believe that my familial morals and work ethic means I now need to make up for their entitled attitude?

Fair share... Henry ford said his employees should be paid enough so they could afford to buy what they built. And so he paid.

But later generations the Factory Owner (Business owner) class has taken more and more and More still rasing the selling pric through the roof while. Well since I opened with Ford..

One year Ford demanded concessions from the Union workers crying "We can not afford these high wages"

A Third level manager got his bonus check,... that same year. Enough to buy my house and a new Jaguire (Ford owned Jag at that time) Is that fair? (I;m Union all the way)

Define have, are we talking cash in the bank, or total net assets?
I would assume the grand total of all of above. Assets can be converted to cash at any time. IOW, that 472,465K$ worth of stuff could vary a little by the day with depreciation, appreciation or whatever. Inflation as well. No need for perfect accuracy here.

"That’s $942,930 per couple. If a couple had two kids, the four of them would be sitting pretty with $1.89 million."

-Don- Redcrest, CA
We don’t have two kids living with us. But with assets we would have the $942,930 per couple.

Dumb article IMO. Kids should not count for this statistic as they live with/off parents. So this probably should only count those above 18.
And then of the 340.11 million people-how many are actual legal US residents.

Fair Share is Don's term. All the article says is if you divided $160 trillion by about 340 million Americans each would get about $471,000. It has nothing to do with fairness.
Yes...it is all about interpretation (aka spin) on the statement. The discussion could be interpreted to suggest that if you don't have your "fair share", then somebody owes you something. My point was that if a person feels entitled to their "fair share" of benefits then they should accept their responsibility to contribute their "fair share" to the very generalized term of "society".

Listen to what I mean, not what I say!;)
That was assuming everything else was fair too! I really should have used the word "even" share or whatever.

When I was 13 years old, I learned to stop comparing myself to others and I did not care any more if I were the "missfit" in my class or the most popular.

I learned that no matter WHAT I did, there was always someone who would not approve of my efforts, my actions, my work, or my dreams. It did not matter how much I actually achieve or how much I failed, because someone was there to always criticize my actions.

When I got older, I was pretty much a loner, not popular, and definitely not wealthy (in the financial aspect).

And even today, I still do not give a rats Azz what anyone else thinks of me, my life style, OR the position of my financial strength (or weakness).

It took me 12 years to completely remodel my house. Over those 12 years, house styles flipped back and forth from one extreme to another. Still, I had a focus for what I liked, (and only me!) My house is now complete and it's interior design and style is truly not "conventional" and if the house were to ever be sold, it would be turned down (I'm sure) because it's not "yuppy" enough for some people!

But, that does not matter. My wife loves the house now, I love the house now, and we both are enjoying it (now). I don't give a rats Azz what anyone else thinks, and I don't give a rats Azz what will happen in the future. It's perfect for us NOW. And I REFUSE to compare it with other houses, much more modern, or of different styles.

The same is true for my financial position. I don't give a rats Azz what someone else's financial situation is. If you were successful and acquired billions of dollars, then ... "More power to you!" If you miscalculated or mismanaged your assets as you are living in poverty, "More power to you!" I don't care as long as you don't impose your lifestyle on me.

I think I am one of the wealthiest people on earth. It's not because of the amount of financial wealth or the amount physical assets we possess, but we are "wealthy" because my wife and I both have "contentment" when what we have.

We have "abased" and we have "abounded", but in ALL things, we were (and are) "content". We have peace of mind and that happens ONLY when I learned to stop comparing myself with others.

That's the problem, the media thrives on making people feel bad about themselves, and its all too true, people associate the amount of money they have control of as their happiness. If that is the motivation for "happiness" ... you will never be "happy" or "content" because someone will ALWAYS have more than you do. And once you finally do get it all, you will be most miserable because now you have nothing to achieve for any more.

The Bible says, "In all things, be content!"

You would have to know how many are Native Americans. Once you know that you would have to know how many were born in the U.S. once that was determined you would have to know how many are naturalized citizens. Add all that up ….or just take the governments word that there are an estimated 10-16 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

As we've seen in recent events the media cannot be trusted. Any average, statistic, or poll is either not realistic or rigged. If you take all the billionaires out of the equation the number is likely a fraction of $471,465.

Yeah, I am finding MSN has a lot of "dumb articles".

But that will not stop me from posting a few of them here.:)

And hence you lose credibility. You know it’s dumb and lacks credibility but you post it anyway. :cry:o_O:sleep:
