"Fair Share" is a term used extensively to justify unfairness. For example, my grandparents were 1st gen in US. They both worked 2 jobs to provide for the family, and to get ahead a bit. No fancy cars or vacations. My dad started his own business where he worked at least 50 hrs per week to provide. I started working for him around 12 and got my first outside job when I was legally able to do so. On two occasions worked 2 jobs, once to get enough money for my first house and years later to help out with the bills during a time where I was laid off due to the 90's economy. For the last 20 years or so I have consistently averaged around 45 hrs/week at my regular job.
I would assume the grand total of all of above. Assets can be converted to cash at any time. IOW, that 472,465K$ worth of stuff could vary a little by the day with depreciation, appreciation or whatever. Inflation as well. No need for perfect accuracy here.Define have, are we talking cash in the bank, or total net assets?
My question also. Just cash we have close to the $471,000 but that’s for us both. With assets we have more than the $471,000 each.Define have, are we talking cash in the bank, or total net assets?
IMO, yes. You may apply for that manger job or do whatever it takes to get it,Is that fair?
"That’s $942,930 per couple. If a couple had two kids, the four of them would be sitting pretty with $1.89 million."Just cash we have close to the $471,000 but that’s for us both.
We don’t have two kids living with us. But with assets we would have the $942,930 per couple."That’s $942,930 per couple. If a couple had two kids, the four of them would be sitting pretty with $1.89 million."

Fair Share is Don's term. All the article says is if you divided $160 trillion by about 340 million Americans each would get about $471,000. It has nothing to do with fairness."Fair Share" is a term used extensively to justify unfairness.
Yes...it is all about interpretation (aka spin) on the statement. The discussion could be interpreted to suggest that if you don't have your "fair share", then somebody owes you something. My point was that if a person feels entitled to their "fair share" of benefits then they should accept their responsibility to contribute their "fair share" to the very generalized term of "society".Fair Share is Don's term. All the article says is if you divided $160 trillion by about 340 million Americans each would get about $471,000. It has nothing to do with fairness.

Yeah, I am finding MSN has a lot of "dumb articles".Dumb article IMO.
You would have to know how many are Native Americans. Once you know that you would have to know how many were born in the U.S. once that was determined you would have to know how many are naturalized citizens. Add all that up ….or just take the governments word that there are an estimated 10-16 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S.And then of the 340.11 million people-how many are actual legal US residents.
Yeah sure, why not?????????????or just take the governments word
And hence you lose credibility. You know it’s dumb and lacks credibility but you post it anyway.Yeah, I am finding MSN has a lot of "dumb articles".
But that will not stop me from posting a few of them here.
