Before I take this toilet out to see for myself, does anyone out there know if the Dometic 310 series toilet uses a regular wax seal or some kind of fancy rubber seal? There is a leak problem between the floor and the base. Thank you, Jon

A rubber seal is used, but you will likely require one from Dometic for that model, although you may get lucky and find something at the big hardware stores.  I haven't seen a wax seal used for years and never in an RV type of toilet. I just have installed a new 310.

This is correct. A wax seal will work, until you move the coach. They are not meant for RV use where there will be constant vibration.

I just put a 311 in my truck camper (low profile version of 310).  It uses a rubber seal supplied by Dometic.

It is rare for the seal to fail or leak.  Leaks between the flange and the tank are more common.  It is also possible that you have a drip in the supply plumbing in the pedal or vacuum breaker.
