I met my wife via my sister and you know how that goes...

The idea of getting married on NYE was all mine. What a fool am I. The first two years she was sick and I was down the third year. Year number four is getting close and I'm in BFE Idaho, (Wyoming?) and the light dawns. I call my sister and ask to see what she could find. She come through and made plans for her and her husband and son. (They are back together). We show for our time and we are not on the list. And we were welcome to stick around if someone no showed. Wife was pissed. Went home and I think we had tuna sandwiches. Later Sis calls wanting to know how we enjoyed. When I told her what happened she went ballistic. Not ten minuets went by and the phone rings. Caller says he is Mr. So-and-so from the 4-1/2 star restaurant, apologizing six different ways and telling us no matter when we arrive to ask for him and we would be seated. Wife said no but then she relented so we showed up around 1000. We had a extremely nice dinner and the service was great. But by time we got there the party was well under way and most dinners were three sheets to the wind. Manager came by and comped the food, can't comp the alcohol in OR.

Now days we just go to one of the casinos the day or two before, enjoy the decorations, have a nice meal, then just sit in the MH and bask in the light of love. Had a few knockdown but we always survive.

Wow! Today is our sixty-second anniversary and compared to you we have led a dull life. We went to a Pentatonics concert last night so probably won't do a lot tonight.

Met future wife, Labor Day weekend 1984. Within 2 weeks she dumped her then boyfriend, and we have been together ever since.

Totally understand! My wife and I were married on March 10 (This March will be our 40th anniversary).

One thing you DO NOT want to do is plan an anniversary trip to any beach in Florida during that time.

One year we stayed at the state park in Panama City, Florida for the week of our anniversary. We got a campsite OK, but little did we know that week was prime time for Spring Breakers! High School and College kids running around every acting like insane idiots! The entire area was packed full of young kids. We couldn't really enjoy anything except the actual campground. We were able to travel and see sights AWAY from the Gulf front properties (towns and cities and beaches). But from Gulf Shores all the way to Tampa, the shoreline and every town on the coast was invaded by insanity!

After that, we started booking that week inland ... like ... the mountains of Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Georgia and Alabama did not have the Spring Breakers either. But never again the Gulf the entire month of March or April! Never again!

There's not really a good time for senior citizens to be @ St. Andrews State Park ( if that's the one) between Spring Break and Labor Day. Panama City Beach ( The Redneck Riviera) is **** raising ground zero for kids in driving distance from Alabama and Georgia. Families generally go to Destin, Pensacola Beach, or Gulf Shores.

We celebrate New Year’s Eve these days by refilling our pill trays for January. Oh baby! This will be our 56th New Years together.

I still get accused of being an idiot.

We got married four months after our first date. This February it will be 52 years. Past anniversaries have been celebrated in Florida, Louisiana, Idaho, Las Vegas, Japan, Texas, France, Georgia, Delaware, Missouri, Illinois and England. The 52nd will be celebrated in Puerto Rico. As for New Years, we do that one in the comfort and safety of our home with a nice bottle of Proseco.

We were married on December 1st. I tried to get her to wait until December 7th but she wouldn't allow that.

However, our first grandchild was born on December 7th so the universe is back in balance.

These days people have long engagements after living together quite a while. I guess I understand it, but we sure didn’t. Met in September, moved in together in January, engaged in March, married in September. It was 46 years a few months ago. Now if only I can get my second son to pop the question to his partner …

Yep, every week in March there are at least 4 colleges on spring break. It got so bad many FL cities are cracking down on partying and large crowds on streets.
When we wintered in FL, March was when we stayed home (MH) and enjoyed the amenities of the RV resort.
