Dropping Windshield

But your windshield itself (the glass) isn't damaged and you are asking the insurer to provide a repair in case it later becomes a root cause for some other damage or liability claim.
Exactly Gary. That was my thinking when I initiated the claim that they would see it that way too. If the window fell out and caused an accident, Progressive and I would be sued, especially if there were injuries. No matter what Progressive would state as to who was responsible they being the insurance company on record would pay, possibly millions. This is from an attorney I talked to in a general sense before I made the claim.

Progressive has denied the claim under "wear and tear" and I have a local RV windshield and glass company going to look at my rig sometime this week. They'll call with an estimate of what needs to be done to repair the situation and price.

An update....

Last week the windshield repair company went out to look at my window at the shop my RV is currently at. He noticed a large double star crack on the driver side near the edge of the glass. I knew about this but forgot to mention it to the adjuster when he reviewed my windshield. Glass repair guy says the window is cracked, he can't take it out to reset.

I called the adjuster back more than a week after the initial claim. He asked that I start a new claim for a cracked windshield. I did, original adjuster and another guy both look over the RV at the shop it's sitting at, and agree to replace with a new windshield covered by Progressive at $3900+.

Whew.
