E450 7.3 V8 (2022) – Mountain Climbing Performance Expectations?

. Took a trip to Colorado with his friend, who had a carbureted coach. When he got back from that trip he tried to get his old coach back from the dealer because his buddies carbureted coach would now run away from him on the hills.
Same engine? Makes me wonder why that would happen. What about the tranny? Same or at different RPMs?

Basically the same engine. Not really sure of what internal mods were made when they switched from carb to TBI except the one piece rear main seal. Probably a different cam and maybe some port work in the heads. Transmissions differed also, carbed engines had the 3 speed Turbo 400, and the TBI motors had, I believe, the 4L80E.
Bob sold his coach the year before we went full time and bought an '00 Winnebago on an F-53, so now we're both rocking the V-10, but my coach is a couple of feet longer.
