TWG. Forgot the oil cap is for a radiator replacement.I would like to know if the oil cap is a 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch cap. Thanks,TWG
No, radiator oil caps are a part of the radiator for a 2007 6.8 V-10 E-450. There are two different sized radiators, one with a 1/2 inch cap the other 3/8 inch cap. I never heard of this until I went to buy one from Auto Zone. They didn’t know."Oil cap" on a radiator? Do you mean the radiator cap? Or the coolant reservoir cap? E450 radiator & reservoir caps are available at any auto parts store of Ford dealer. Here is one source:
Not sure. The cap is located on the bottom of the radiator. My so thinks it’s a 1/2 in.Are you talking about where the transmission cooler line attaches to the radiator?
I like your idea. I can always bring the other back.Buy both. Return the one that doesn't fit.
Thanks for clearing this up.That does indeed sound like a drain for the transmission oil cooler. There is no "oil" in the radiator itself, but a oil line from the transmission runs through the bottom of the radiator to help cool the transmission.
