When I first transferred to our company HQ in Santa Clara, my office was on the second floor. For folks old enough to remember, these were the days when we had microfiche. It was nearly impossible to look at images on the uf reader on my desk because it was constantly moving.
I was born in San Diego in 58. When I was in grade school in the early/mid-60's it seemed to be almost a daily occurrence that my family would be eating at the table - breakfast or supper - and the hanging light above would start swaying a little from a minor temblor. My mom or dad would just reach up and hold it for a few seconds then let it go.

Funny you should say that. Whether we're eating or watching TV or laying in bed, when I think we just had a shake, I always look at the long chains hanging from the ceiling lights; They're always my first confirmation.

Born in '59 in Fullerton. Mom always has some glass dishes stored precariously on the top of the fridge. whenever they started to rattle... earthquake. Seeing the contrail of a missile launched from Vandenberg was also a treat.

Born in 64 in Oakland. Moved to Fullerton when I was 1st grade.
Remember the earthquake drills. Lol

My mother says I've slept through Quakes (Big California type) I don't know. seems I was sleeping.

Slept through several Mini-quakes (Detroit Type, New Madrid Fault) Only know about them due to TV news.

One day at work things got a bit wierd.. Ripples in my coffee.. bit of disorientation in brain. and all our microwave linked cameras went off line.. Everybody in the room save me is "WHAT WAS THAT, WHAT WAS THAT"... Me: Earthquake.. And so it was.
