I was rummaging around my picture archive and stumbled across these pics of my favorite place to camp & fish in the Eastern Sierras.

Brown's campground on the banks of the Upper Owens River is a great place, 7 miles off Hwy 395, south of Mammoth airport, upstream of Crowley Lake.  We first found this gem back in the early 80's, before they put in the campground. Back then, folks boondocked streamside among the grazing cattle.

This trip we were one of only 3 RVs in the campground, and had our pick of sites. Mammoth Mountain in the background had some snow on the peaks. The valley floor is at 4,000 feet and some surrounding peaks are at 14,000 feet.
