EMS PT50x surge protector

We camped in early issues and had no electrical issues at all. When I unplugged the surge protector there were no codes. I’m at the house preparing for a trip and the surge protector shows a PE 6 error code. A google search shows that as a Previous low voltage on line 2. Meaning it showed something before now. There are no current error codes and it reads 125 on leg 1 and 126 on leg 2. As it is just trickle charging it is pulling just 1-2 amps on both legs. The house plug in is 50 amps. Any concerns with this error code? I assume it was something from the previous campground. And how do I clear it or can I.

If you need a copy of the owner's manual, you can download it. In it they state that PE is indicating why it shut off power in the past. That simply means that it did its job. It also states that the error code will clear when you disconnect it from power.

NOTE: If the EMS shuts down power to the RV it will indicate a PE Code(Previous Error) following the Error Code. This indicates why the unit shutdown. To determine the meaning of a PE code, ignore the letter P (i.e. PE4actually indicates an E 4 Error Code or Line 1 Low Voltage (line 1 voltage below 104V). See above Error Codes.

I have the hardwired version, and what Kirk said is exactly correct. Mine has done this several times for low voltage.

I’m at a bit of a loss. I’m missing something the “P” means it was a precious error, but it’s supposed to reset when plugged in. Let me go through my steps. When I unplugged it there were no errors. None. I’m sure of it. I plugged it in a month later and there was a “P” error. Otherwise the error codes said “E0” which means no error. The voltage on both legs was fine when I plugged it in.

When you first plug in, you should see all the voltage, amps and hertz numbers. If all is good, including wiring, it displays " E0 " No errors. A bit later in the afternoon, it gets really hot and everybody is running their A/C, and campground voltage drops. The A/C quits and all electric goes off. The EMS displays " E4 " , or Low Voltage Line 1. The unit currently has power off due to low voltage on line 1 In a few minutes, things come back on, and EMS displays " E0 ; PE4 " meaning currently, no errors, PREVIOUSLY Error code 4. This will clear when the power is unplugged from the pedestal or camper.

If you come in after a long day, this will also show if any power glitches occurred while you were gone, and have since been resolved. It has a PE code that was not there when you left.

In the event that a fault should happen for a time, then be resolved and power restored, the P error will show to let you know that it did happen. If you unplug and it clears, then connect again and it comes back, most likely you are getting an error condition that is short in duration but repetitive.

As an update, I unplugged at home and plugged in at the site and it was gone. Plugged in again at home and still gone. Must have been something at the one site that happened.

The stored codes are there for your information only. As I'm sure you realize, any public power supply will experience occasional interruptions or fulgurations and those codes do not mean that you have a problem, only that something happened. I'm sure that there have been times that you got up in the morning and had to reset the clock on the microwave, even though the power was never off long enough for you to notice. That kind of thing will leave a stored error code, even though it likely was nothing serious. But that code tells you that if there was a problem that could have caused damage, your RV didn't see it. Since the code does not say how long the issue occurred, it really don't give you much useful information. It could be a hint of problems with whatever is supplying you with power if it seems to happen a lot anytime you stay as a particular location or campsite.
