A stroke of musical genius on the part of our (Scottish-born) Music Director. He figured out (by ear) that bagpipes are "tuned" to the key of Eb, which is almost impossible for us uke players to play. But, by putting a capo on the 3rd fret, a re-entrant tuned ukulele is re-tuned to the key of Eb, and we can play chords using fingering for the key of C, emulating the bagpipes. It works!

It's the same for a guitar.

Or capo 1 and play in D

Or capo 6 and play in A

Or capo 11 and play in E

I assume they wouldn't want to play in Bb

;D ;D ;D

I love this video chip. My motorcycle isn't as pretty as the horse but my wife is prettier than the girl in my eyes.

About the flower, after the boy's father is killed he meets his future wife. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C68y8pSX3FI

Funny off topic story, I had to ask my wife out on a date six times before she said yes. She thought I was a jerk but her friend told her to give me a chance. We were married a year later and it's been over twenty five years and to me she is as beautiful today as the first five times she rejected me. LOL

Nooooooo..

Not a bagpipe fan.

Me neither.  Except at my son's best friend's funeral.  Service was held at his father's campground along a creek(also where I'm parked at the minute).  Across the creek is a 200' tall rock bluff.  Piper stood close to the creek and played Amazing Grace, which , of course echoed forever.
Even thinking about it 20 years later still sends chills down my spine.

Maybe the emotional response is why I'm not a huge fan.

And hubby probably doesn't wear a kilt  :)

Come to think of it, having had lunch with them I can confirm that's true.  Amazing they haven't had their citizenship revoked!  ;) ;D

A niece of mine had bagpipes for the music at her outdoor wedding in the Rockies. She'd been with a Pipe and Drum outfit for some time, and invited them to do the honors. It was pretty nice -- it even comes across great on the video I did for her.

I don't mind the modern pipers so much. A wedding I attended had the Red Hot Chilli Pipers doing a few  numbers and they were quite acceptable.  Maybe it is a throwback to listening to them as a child at on TV shows.

Good follow up to my last post. Pretty romantic in my opinion.
