Looking for a light to put just inside the door, for entering in the dark.
I found a battery, homestyle, toggle switch, with led lights on it, at Harbor Freight, for $2.99. Downside is it takes 4 ! aaa batteries.
Good news. If you take 2 batteries out, and put a jumper between 2 battery contacts, it works fine, with just 2 batteries. Still bright enough. I used a bent paperclip for the jumper.
More good news. Coupon gives you 24, aaa batteries free! Not the best batteries, but for this use, no problem.

You aren't saving anything by removing the batteries - you just have to replace the other two earlier.  But leds don't use much current, so maybe 2x will last a camping season.

Fortunately my 5er came with a motion activated light inside the entry door. It's the little things that make a great camper.
We love having that light come on automatically. I'm not hunting blindly for a switch, or leaving another light on just so I can see when we enter. Plus when we are sitting around the campfire and the grandkids are supposed to be sleeping, the light comes on to let us know when they get out of bed and heads to the bathroom, or horsing around and not sleeping. One of us gets up and goes to check on them.
Great upgrade by the way. You'll love it, especially if it's motion activated.

Ours did as well, although it's not motion-activated. There are two small lights that point downward, one near the door, and one on the steps going to the bedroom. I leave those on at night, just in case we need to get anything. As an added bonus (I don't know if it was installed by the previous owner, or is factory), the light switch in the bathroom has a small bulb in it, so that works as a nice little night light as well...

There are lots of motion activated lights on the market. Man are "Solar" (I have one I hang outside when I wish) or .. Well the light switch can be reached from teh ground.

That little LED switch from Harbor Freight will last a long time with the 4 batteries in it...have one in the Barn at home and it has worked a year so far...even thru a Minnesota winter...for 2.99, you can't beat it..getting another one for our wardrobe in the camper...
