Hello,
my name is Justyna (Poland). I'd like to ask if anybody here would be interested with idea of exchanging RV for holiday (all July+August). For now it is only an idea; we do not have precising plans yet, but first we'd like to assure wheather it is sensible and anyway - possible. For us (family 2+3) traditional travelling USA is not acceptable becouse of costs. We own a RV homologated for 5 persons (drive) wchich we were traveling in many countries in Europe, it is comfortable and in good conditions. More info in case of interesting. Thank you.

Sorry, can't help you, but what an interesting idea...Good luck with your search and Happy Travels!!

The idea of exchanging RVs between Europe and the United States offers a unique opportunity for families to explore new landscapes and save a lot of money on their trip.
I think so, too. My children would love to see the United States and Canada. And there are many opportunities to travel from my country. Apart from Poland, which is also beautiful, you can go through Germany to Denmark and then across the Øresund bridge to Sweden. See the beautiful Norwegian fjords and the Lofoten Islands. And in Finland visit the village of St. Nicholas. You can go south to beautiful and warm Croatia or Greece. See the ancient Acropolis. There's plenty to see along the way too. Not to mention seeing Italy. You can spend two whole months there and not get bored... And unfortunately, RV transport to the States is very expencive and costs about 9,000. USD. We would like to avoid this and spend the money on pleasure and sightseeing.

We understand that this requires some mutual trust and some organization, but we also take some risks.

To help your cause I think pictures and detailed info on your RV would help. Year/Make/Model? and post pictures of the outside and inside. You should also get the same from anyone interested in the exchange.

Insurance could be an issue, but that is fairly easily corrected.

Given the size of the US, it also would require that you study up on the US and determine what regions you wish to travel in, probably the west, I'm guessing Yellowstone, Grand Teton, the Mighty Five National Parks in Utah, Google the term for more info. There is lots more to see, but you would want someone with a motor home (or motor coach) in the western US, as you do not want to spend a week driving from the east, if you really wanted to see the west.

Also, take into consideration the weather in the US to time your visit. Yellowstone generally does not open until mid to late May and the campgrounds usually close by the end of September. At higher elevations you can encounter snow in mid summer in some places.

Also make sure of small details, such as enough seat belts for all passengers. Many RV's will claim to sleep large numbers of people, but cannot seat very many for driving, due to the lack of seat belts.

Please do post up a picture or two of your RV. I'm guessing it is what we call a Class C or B+ on a Fiat Ducato/Citroen Jumper/Peugeot Boxer chassis, as that is extremely common in Europe.

Maybe we can talk about it and we can figure out a way to do make it happen. I've already travelled thru north and south América, and almost all of Europe and part of Asia. I own a California Class A RV that is available and ready to hit the road.
Also, i'm polish descendant and part of my family is still living on Europe.

Best regards
