Evaluating new RV electrical setup

Is this what your concern is? The second AC has a 20 A CB so that section is protected. So the concern is that the wiring to that 20A CB shorts, the section to the 50A service could melt?

The original wiring 30A cable to the OEM can be argued has the same situation. But the OEM setup is fed with 50A when folks used adapters.

No, my concern is that if the tap to the 20 amp circuit breaker is only #12 it is not rated for use on a 50 amp circuit and line conductors or grounding conductor could be damaged during a bolted fault. #10 like what the original wiring uses is allowed to be used as the EGC on a 50 amp circuit. (NEC 250.122) I am not concerned with any 30 or 50 amp wiring because all of that has a #10 EGC.

I got it now. If the tap was #10 that would suffice. Easy enough to change.

The big question in my mind is if the electrucal is not right what else is wrong?

I think that question is valid on all RVs, even new ones that come out of the assy line. I know some (many) people hate CW, but that is one large company that would be liable if the RV caught fire. It's better they did the mod, than the previous owner himself.

cw has been very good at burying valid lawsuits and i would trust the owners work more than cw. It is unbelievable and shocking how many times and how bad work done by cw has been. My first hand experience falls into that category.

They threatened me when i raised issues with the work they did. Instead of being willing to discuss and address issues they started charging me storage fees so they could sell my rv to collect those fees rather than correct the poor work they did

CW is as bad as the worst horror stories you have heard

My experience with them after buying a few trinkets, the cashier couldn't have been any ruder except for the service desk guy who I apparently bothered by asking about wiper blades. The only person who was friendly was a sales person when he saw me looking at a rig just like mine and mistakenly thought he saw a buyer. I am amazed at their success though, I guess it's the 800 lb Gorilla theory.

Never had a bad experience buying products there or with campground discounts. The big issues are buying rvs and service

Thanks all. I really appreciate all the input. To Kirk's point, install done at a CW center, so I assume it was done by a qualified technician... that said with the group's obvious disdain with CW! So, here's the rest of the story! I pulled out the original 30A inlet today. It was disconnected from the coach altogether. The original RV inlet wire was tied into the previously noted 50A leg (L1). Not even in a junction box. Was wire capped and taped off behind the plug. I took this down and reconnected the 30A wire to the 30A inlet. As far as the back A/C, I left the L2 leg up and will run with the 50A cord when in camp and wanting the second A/C. Thanks again for all the input! Love this group.
