Palamino SS 1251 says 6'5" bed and the F250 is 6'9"; Can we mount and put a spacer in front of camper/back of cab. Has anyone done this or have pictures? TIA

Have not done this, but a spacer or just have 3” of truck bed exposed at the back. Assuming the camper doesn’t have a dropped back. If it does the spacer will work. Guessing you have not yet bought the camper. I would look at reviews and such, I have been around TC’s for 20+ years and IMHO would not buy a Palomino. Build quality has been lacking over the years. But they are a lower priced unit, and some folks lve them. Just look at it really carefully. A neighbor of mine bought one new and has had it back in the shop a number of times. (happens with new RV’s a lot). Just be careful.

Can’t find a picture of what this one looks like, the only pic I found and not sure it is this one seems to have overhang. If it does, you would need the spacer. I would look for a different unit.

Yes, a spacer will work.

Years ago I used one for the TC we had. I screwed two 2X8s together standing on edge for the spacer. I did that so if the TC tried to move forward, all the pressure wouldn't be on just the very bottom edge of the TC. Worked great.

Thanks for your replies: yeah we got to keep the price tag low low low: thats why the Palomino is in play. We need a place for wet gear hence the shower area. Its a weekender only for now and if the Truck camper works vs the van, then we will go $$$ in a couple years.
