Here is my dilemma, my hope is somebody has been through this and can share their experience.

I am about 61-62? long, while I am very comfortable pulling, backing (class A CDL since they came out) or whatever is needed, my wife(she drove a class A owned from Wisconsin to TN) is not. It would be nice to have a Super C with the motorcycle on a lift attached or pulling Tandem tow HD or just pulling a small suv. Sometimes on long trips, I think,it'd be nice for her to drive an hour or 2! I must admit there are times I think shorter would be nice, even dreamed of taking off on a long trip with a 37? C with only my motorcycle on the back lift!

I currently have a tri-axle toyhauler, 11/2 bath with 12? garage which we put either motorcycle or golf cart in as needed. It also works great as a 2ND bedroom for my in-laws(twice a year) and my grandkids (2-3 times yr) as needed.

I?m afraid I?ll regret not having the 2ND bedroom for the in-laws , grand kids would be fine!

If there is anyone that has struggled with this issue, please let me let me know how it turned out!

Can't help you with your question...other than I think you miss the 2nd bedroom more than you will appreciate the help with the driving.

Just want to welcome you to the RV Forum.

Will she not drive it all, or is it just the backing up?

My sister will pull her fifth wheel, or drive my motorhome, on the highway. She wants no part of narrow roads or backing up though. We did a cross-country trip a few years ago, and she did the bulk of the driving.

Thank you both for the input, she will not attempt to drive it! She has driven the Class A that we once owned. To her it feels different pulling a 43? fifth vs 40? class a. I think it?s like the tail wagging the dog is her fear.

Yeah, I get it. My wife wouldn't dream of pulling our fifth wheel when we had it, but she doesn't mind driving the motorhome.

She used to be an EMT, and she just thinks of the motorhome as a really big ambulance!

So why not get a Super C toyhauler? Or a Class A toyhauler?
