I really do appreciate all your advice but I don't or shall I say we don't think it is too much. There really is nothing that we really want to see until we get to NM. Been to all the other places before heading to NM. We drive our MH 6 to 8 hours with no problems just for us to go to Key West is 8 hours not a problem. 8 hours is our max per day but only have maybe 2 or 3 days of that planned due to the terrain. We don't mind the heat we live in FL and most of our vacations in the past have been in the summer and we usually go to Islands we don't do well with the cold so we are concern we may be cold at times. NM we really only want to spend like 3 days in Carlsbad that is about all the caverns and hiking we want to do there. Then off to vegas and we willl go through Roswell to see what the hoopla is about that and make time to see the creator. Then in Vegas we want to see some shows like Celion Dion. Oops we are taking a train ride through the Grand Canyon which we have reserved already. We will spend a day seeing lake powell but heard that it is ok and of course Bryce. Then to Zion and spend a couple of days and off the Yellowstone for like 4 days then we want to go to Mt Rushmore, Sturgis and Crazy Horse thats about all of the west that we are interested in. Of course we can be flexible we are able to do that if needed. Then from Mt Rushmore what ever is the quickest way back to FL that is what we plan nothing in between there that we are interested in. I am in my late 40's and my husband is 51. One thing we have learned is that you sure can get to places a lot quicker by via a mh then our 46 boat and a whole lot cheaper on gas.
But thank you for all your input I really take it all in. Total trip will be about or close to 7000 miles round trip. It may be a whirlwind trip but we are up for it and probably won't go west again for sometime at least with the kids they are getting older now. When I post next I will put my itinerary with the mileage etc then you can tell me what I have found for mileage etc.
We have made reservations for many of the places already except for Las Vegas a nite layover in Ogden and Rapid City, SD.
Thanks again
Colleen

Hi Colleen,
If you know when you will be in Las Vegas I strongly suggest you reserve tickets for Celien Dion show.  She is often sold out.  You can get tickets on line and prepare to bring a bank roll!

Thanks I meant to look into the tickets today will do so first thing tomorrow. If she is sold out any other suggestions? We do have tickets for "O" and would like to take in one more show.
I know what you mean about the bank roll.

Thanks as always

Colleen,
We saw the "Blue Man Show" a few years ago.  I don't know if it still there but I think your kids would like it.  It is a Happening. I'm still trying to understand it but I did really enjoy it!  There is a "girlie girlie"  show at  the  Stratosphere that is not very x rated at all and is very inexpensive.  I'm not sure I recall the age limit but if the kids could not see the show they could at least ride the roller coasters on top of the Stratosphere.  I would love to see "O".  Let us know how it is.

Colleen,

Outside of Kanab, UT in the Zion/Bryce area is the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.  The sand and dunes are really coral pink in color. Doesn't take long to see the dunes and is about $5 per car.  Your family might enjoy it.

Colleen,

Jjust a little info on your Vegas visit.  I haven't tried it yet but Sams Town Casino, have almost 500 full hook-up sites, for about $17.50 per night.  The hotel/casino also has a bowling alley and an 18 screen movie theater.  It's a little off the strip and likely to be reasonably quiet.  You can also get on their regular free shuttle which will take you to a variety of places/hotels right on the strip and runs throughout the day.  Now showing at the Mirage is a show called 'Love' - its a Cirque du Soleil production but done to about 30 Beatle songs.  It includes some X game stunts and sounds really good. I'm sure the kids would love it.  Go to www.Vegas.com for some great show/hotel info.

Good Luck with you trip
B.T.
