We're still at the what to purchase stage, but will be deciding on something soon. Currently I'm looking at a 1999 Roadtrek 190 versatile anniversary and have been searching everywhere for feedback on that model. Plans are to be able to carry a very large and aging German Shepherd and a Beagle. We've skipped opportunities for trips and get-a-ways because the question always remains - "What are we going to do with Heidi?" (the GSD) Although she has calmed down a lot at 9 years old, she can be an imposing handful for dog sitters and boarding is out of the question.
I also have a little gypsy living inside me.

Two people and two large dogs will not work in a class B. You need at least a medium sized class A.

It's tough enough for two people to move around in a Versatile (or any , but a large dog plus a beagle?  Words like "insanity" come to mind...  Some friends had one and carried a Min-Pin, and that was pretty badly crowded (at least in my opinion). They sold it after one long trip. Shorter trips may be more tolerable, though.

You need to go sit in various RVs to try them on for size, preferably taking the dogs with you. Sometimes even getting an older dog in/out can be a problem. Try the bathroom and consider that you have to reconfigure the interior to make up the bed, losing most of the living space when you do.

Welcome! Visit RV stores, even if you don't plan on buying from them. That way you can sit in them and get a feel for the different options.

For trips over a day or two the beagle stays with sitters. Only the shepherd would be with us and we're not planning on anything over a week at most right now.
I'm aware the size is less than the ideal, but other things about it work well for us.
