Floorplans online?

Howdy. I am poking my nose intot he RV world, and whilst I am shopping around trying to get an idea of what I want in a used RV, I am having a problem finding floor plans online for some of the older ones. Does anyone have a website that spits out floor plans for various RV make and models? Thanks.

I would check out Internet sites.
I think most manufactures will have an Internet link to their model floor planes such as Crossroads:      http://www.crossroadsrv.com/cruiser/floorplan.asp
Many of the RV dealers also list floor planes with the units that they have for sale: http://www.wanarv.com/rv/puma-5th-wheel.cfm

The DW's main concern was access to the kitchen and bedroom without the slides out. So when at Wal-Mart or a rest stop you have access to your RV without taking a chance of losing a slide to a passing vehicle or annoying Wal-Mart management.

I looked at E-Bay Motors, Craigslist, and RV trader a lot, as well as looking at online dealership ads to try and get a better overall sense of floor plans and layouts. Spend a LOT of time going in and out of them in person whenever possible, too.

I doubt it will ever exist, but a wiki of RV floor plans that was cross indexed by manufacturer, line, style (5W, TT, TH), weight and floor plan type would be a valuable addition to the 'net.

on topic question.... do the letters after the length denote floorplan? if so, by manufacturer, or industry standard? meaning a 34c is the same whether fleetwood or winnie?
if they are standard what do they denote? c = center aisle, j = side aisle?

The designations are strictly those of a given manufacturer, each one is different. There may be a pattern for the manufacturer but it is likely only they know what that means.

Try going to http://images.google.com/advanced_image_search?hl=en and use search words such as the years you are interested in, the type of RV (travel trailer, Class A, etc.), and the words "floor plans".

If you look around on the manufacturer web sites, somewhere there is likely to be a set of older brochures and/or floor plans. May be labeled "archive" or some such. I know Winnebago and Fleetwood have them, for example.

"Some" of the digits used in model designations are similar across many manufacturers and give you a good idea of the features. Example - our 27BHSS Travel Trailer has approximately 27' of living space, is a "Bunk House", and has a "Super Slide" (sofa and dinette). There are other common abbreviations - RL rear living room, FK front kitchen, etc.
