Stopped at the Flying J at Kingman, AZ today. Posted on each fuel pump was the following notice.

Effective 12/28/05 Flying J will no longer honor Conoco cards.

Seems strange to me seeing as how an awful lot of their stations are Conoco stations.

Just a heads up for anyone using a Conoco card.

Just missed you. We refueled at the Kingman Flying J on the 7th on our way to Death Valley and saw the same notice. The store manager said that a corporate decision was made to eliminate the Conoco branding, so the station will be like Ehrenburg, California, Utah and many other west coast unbranded Flying J stations. I have a Conoco credit card which gives me a 3% discount on Conoco fuel purchases so that card won't be as effective in fighting high fuel costs.

By the way, the card will still be usable if a MasterCard or Visa, you just won't get the Conoco discount.

Looks like we crossed paths both directions. I went north on the 9th and south on the 13th.

Went up for Operation Welcome Home. Honoring Vietnam Veterans on the 30th anniversary of the end of the conflict. Parade, The Moving Wall on Freemont St. with many other displays and the Aviation Nation Air Show. My brother is a DFC honoree. Huge crowds, estimates 15 to 20 thousand at the parade and my guess would be 60 to 70 thousand at the air show when we went on Saturday.
