We're at pokagan State Park and these people next to us pull out this massive fogger and start fogging around their camper. A couple of minutes later we could smell it in her RV so we closed all of our windows. We just feel that this is completely wrong. One of your guys's thoughts on this?

Might want to ask if it's poisonous, perhaps ask to move your site. Or, have them warn you so you can close your windows and vacate - go get ice cream and come back with a smile. Sorry they are not courteous to you.

Wow, been managing multiple Forest Service campgrounds for almost 7 years and that's a new one on me. I'd have to ask my boss about that because there's no rule posted that says you can't fog your campsite. Can't imagine it would be allowed in the Forest though. Private parks? Who knows?

Definitely not cool. I would also talk to park management, maybe they can find out what they used and see if it won't kill bees and other beneficial insects.

I’m still not sure how I would even respond. It’s really a stunning lapse of common decency. People can have allergic reactions to this type of fogging, which can be life threatening (anaphylactic shock).

Not really. Those type of people don't read the instructions.
We stayed at one campground where the staff was spraying for mosquitoes.
They posted signs two days before the spraying.
The guy spraying was in full hazmat suit with a respirator.

The guy probably thought he was doing his neighbors a favors. Those who are gung-ho about killing off pesty insects or critters are likely to be surprised that some others may object.

I think the right approach is to bring it to the attention of the campground management.
