Apparently its all over except the cryin'

The F59 chassis will supposedly take over, which is 1960's technology (F53 was 70's tech). Perhaps Thor, FR and Winnebago should get together and just make their own. And make it so it isnt such a harsh ride.

The F59 stripped chassis has been in the model lineup for years, including the current 2026 version. The custom vehicle market has used it for every thing from mobile medical centers to police command centers, and many other large custom vehicles. The primary difference with the F53 is mostly in the frame cross member configuration. The F59 is pretty versatile, so I don't expect the RV manufactures to face any significant problems in switching over.

Also, Freightliner will soon be introducing its new frame that will use a gas big-block GM V8. I wonder if there might already be orders in the RV industry for this more modern design and power setup.

But they have to start somewhere and the medium duty commercial van market is a larger and more stable market than motorhomes. Once that product is perfected, it could probably be extended to a front-engine motorhome chassis. But the commercial stripped chassis is what Ford's F59 chassis is targeted at, so FCCC would still be in direct competition with Ford. It will be interesting to watch how (and if) this develops...
