Forum Downtime - software update 3/24-27

I'm sure I'd find more if I varied the search term/word.
I do recall several times seeing posts by you thanking rally members who donated. I seem to recall that most of the Q rallies I attended had a circulating envelope. I most recall Betty doing that, but though my memory may be faulty, I thought we donated through Bob Maxwell at my first Q rally- I've been wrong before though -- that's too far back.

Tom your last communication worked. Now i only have one password for all of RV life, the simplest password I had is irv2.com. I had secure passwords for every other website I used. This means now I have to replace everything or keep that one unsecure password for all websites.

BTW, is there some way for me to change the bold red color? It hurts my old eyes.

Thanks Ray, that cleared a bunch of tickets at the Help Desk :) Can't do much about the red, it's a function of the theme/style of the software.

More ads is an understatement.
Well, I paid my $65.00 and no more advertisements at all here with using Win 11 Edge.

I no longer need to use Brave, but that also works well for most things, but I found a couple of bugs in it such as when I try to check the CA road conditions. It also won't work with my security cameras.

Now I am back to using Edge, no advertisements here and no bugs anywhere. Win 11 Edge is all I need for everything.

You can click on the red lion's head in the header bar and turn off Brave's shields when they block something you want to see. Then it acts like the Chrome browser it's based on.

Thanks, I didn't know about that.

However, I just now discovered that wasn't my problem. I had a different bookmark link in Brave for CA Road Conditions than for Edge and the one in Brave took me to a "page not found" message. I copied the correct link from Edge to Brave and then all was fine, even with Brave's shield turned on (or off).

I guess they got what they wanted, which was your money, when they changed all this.

Big red " rv life pro " Wonderful!

I hope you get your 65 bucks worth every year!

That would not work for me. Oh well.

Not a big deal. I won't miss 65 bucks. I assume the 65 bucks helps support the forum and it totally took care of the advertisements here. But I do wonder if they increased the advertisements and have them block content (unlike before) to get more suckers to join the "RV Life Pro".

It worked in my case. But I am a sucker for many things.

I assume the "site team" gets it for free.

But what do you mean by it would not work for you?

I just now tried to install "RV Safe GPS" on my Android RC545L. I got the link sent to my phone, I select Android, and then install to only get the error message, in red, "Your device isn't compatible with this version."

Has anybody else here tried to install it on Android?

Does it work for anybody here on Android?

The app runs well on Android (I am an Android user) but your version of Android and the device need to be relatively recent. That's a fairly old device, so you may run into trouble.

You can log in to Trip Wizard on a laptop to plan trips, save, print, etc however.... those planned trip typically sync to the app for live turn-by-turn navigation in your rig.

New in year 2022. Has the latest FW updates. Is that "fairly old"?

Google says that it runs Android 10 (which is an old operating system). Sometimes the internet is wrong... ?

Android 10 was released on September 3, 2019.

As of January 2025, 6.21% of Android devices use Android 10.

It's now up to Android 15. As of March 2025, 4.51% of Android devices run Android 15.

So what version is "RV Safe GPS" supposed to run on?

Edit: I confirmed my Android is version 10 as in "Settings-System-About Phone it says:

"Device Name RC545L Android Version 10"

I also found where it says under "App Info." for "RV Safe GPS" where it says:

"Required OS Android 10 and up"

So why doesn't it work?

My Android phone uses 6.103VZ. It hasn't updated since Jan 04, 2022. The phone still works so why upgrade? The only thing I noticed is that maybe a couple years ago it stopped being able to read codes on things.
