Forum Update - We're back! Ask your questions here

Yes, but those are what was there before. When I tried to update the signature, when I pressed "Save", that is when I got the error for longer than two lines.

Signatures are currently limited to 3 lines. Some older signatures may still be displaying at 4 lines but any update will result in the 3 lines being required.

Can you double up info on a line?

I thought I was wrong once, but I was wrong!

In the main forum page ALL of the forum titles are BOLD, and the only difference between read and unread is the tiny "motorhome" logo is red for unread or gray for read. Used to be that we had the titles in bold only for unread- big difference in evaluating the page portions at a glance.
I can, for example, go into "RVing with Pets" and mark that forum as read. Go back after refresh of close/open and that forum still is bold and no difference in that logo next to the title.

Having administered some forums in another lifetime I can well appreciate that challenge given all that numerous variables what with multiple browsers, addons, etc. And ever viewer has their own priorities-- what's important to them matters not to others. Can be a real pain to try and placate everyone. ;)

This bold/unbold forum title is a good example for me as I never use that. I just mark ALL as read when done with a session and then click "New" to see new posts.

Any particular reason for the limitation on the number of lines? No big deal, just wondering.

This seems an appropriate opportunity to offer thanks to the admins/moderators for their time and efforts. Surely others join me in expressing appreciation to these people for ensuring that this forum continues its unique offering, style, and reputation.
I am gratefuil to have learned so much--and been so entertained--since I joined.

Before the update, when I used the "mark forum read" it not only removed the bold from the thread titles but it also changed the header from bold so that I could easily see what forum subject areas had new posts.
You are both answering but not what I am asking.
I'm seeing bold titles for unread and regular titles for read, similar to but slightly different fonts than before.
With the Edge browser I see the same as you do - bold only for Unread. But with the Firefox browser, all titles are bold regardless of read/unread status.
It used to be that once I read or marked as read all threads in a forum subject area, the title of the forum would change from bold just like the titles of read threads do. I use both Edge and also Chrome and in both cases the forum subject titles remain bold at all times. Threads do change.

I just noticed my answer! The little RV to the left of the title is red before reading but goes dim after! Not quite as obvious as before, but it works.

I determined that the "read" thread titles switch from bold to Regular if I refresh the page after reading, so it appears to be an page update timing difference between differing browsers.

I just wish I didn’t have to open a thread to mark it “ignore.” I know by the title I am not interested in certain threads, and it is nice to not see them when I come back to the forum.
A couple of options:

1. If you read the forum using the New Posts link, just open the threads you wish to read, then click Mark Forums Read. You won't see those threads again until/unless new posts are made in them.

2. If you open one of those unwanted threads, click the Ignore link above the first message on the page.

This updates your current account and any posts you've made. This option is avaliable to members (changing their own display name) only once. If you need further help with a name change - hit the contact link ;)
I just tried to change my user name to what it is on irv2.com. This website states "no comma's allowed",, but my user name on irv2.com is Ray,IN. Am I doing something wrong??

I tried to change it for you and got the same result. We'll wait for Janet.

(y)(y)(y) By far, IMO, the most efficient way to read forum posts!!

To add just a bit... click "New Posts" as you say then open any threads you want to view in a separate tab. Then, "Mark Forums Read" and go through, read and close your open tabs.

There's some forums I'm not particularly interested in but for me I don't see any need to ignore them via the software. Besides, there are times when a topic pops up in one of those forums that I find interesting/useful.

Everyone has their own methodology of course. :)

I just tried the search feature and got an Oops! message. I typed in Post a Joke like I always do. Are there problems with the search feature?

My Chromebook has a one inch semi transparent bar at the bottom of my screen. It began after the forum upgrade and this is the only site it happens on.
