Forum Update - We're back! Ask your questions here

I have a strange issue. I'm on rvforum.net. I click the bell to read the alerts, then click on a alert and suddenly I'm on winnieowners.com(not logged-in) and rvforum.net is gone. I click the back arrow and i'm back to rvforum.net. This is in the same tab of FireFox. Below is a screnshot of all my alerts today.
What is happening and why????

I have another issue. I have a blank white box that goes the width of the screen at the bottom of the window. I don't care much for the text and such behind it, but on the right side (circled), it blocks the icons that will take you back to the top (or bottom) of the page. I cannot click on it, and I have no idea what the white box is. Any ideas?

How do I stop repeatedly getting asked my location (Chrome)?
When you get the dropdown window asking permission, select "never allow". Depending on your version of Chrome you may have to click on a down arrow to see it.

Your inbox has messages to you from all connected forums in the RV LIFE network. You can respond and the message will get to the intended recipient. However - the view you see doesn't change unless you change URLs to view another forum.

There should be a little X over in the left corner to turn this off.

I see no X in either corner. I tried to roll my mouse over various areas to see if it was hidden, but no link or anything showed. It is all just blank. I also tried resizing my screen size to see if it would show up, but no dice.

Apparently my only option then is to stop clicking on those alerts. To me it's disconcerting to suddenly change websites when I have no intention of doing so, then have to go back to where I want to be participating.
I see no way to directly respond to an alert, which is totally different than a message. I am not clicking on the envelope, only the bell.

The alerts work fine for me on my pc. Both duckduck and ms edge. Maybe try clearing your cache?

Another trick they use are links to "unsubscribe"
I was hoping to use that to get rid of the NEW emails I am getting from RV life, even though I opted out of getting weekly and monthly emails. I hate that crap.

So..............unsubscribe is BAD to poke on? I need help with this issue.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

By the way,

I am at 90% zoom on my laptop using microsoft edge, to be able to poke and quote and so forth and so on, so that all the advertisement doesn't block me from seeing and poking stuff.

Tell me what happens when you poke unsubscribe.

Waving at everyone!

Asking this question here also. Thanks.

One interesting twist I noticed while dropping in on another RV Life forum I used to post on. My post count there has been changed to reflect the total of all my posts on various forums. I jumped from a few hundred to over 8000!

You're a prolific writer Marty ;)

Not near as much as some here! But I recently opted out of an outside responsibility so now I will have more time to visit the forums, and RV travel.

In ALERTS (bell right side) Several alerts followed by "RV LIFE Forum Hub with day and time" What is it and/or what is it telling us.?

It only seems to appear when someone has used the "like" etc

@Tom any idea?

Thanks. Quick check seems to confirm you are correct with correlation to "LIKE" (I should have seen that) but still do not know what trying telling us?
Unofficial, non-tech observation - it's of little significance to us as users. Looking at the software code in that block, it's nothing more than a title, letting you know where the alert came from. I'm not familiar with sufficient details to know much more. Without looking hard, I see 3 kinds of alert, all of which show the date and time, and 2 show a title - RV Forum Community and RV LIFE Forum Hub. Might as well say The Little Man In The Back Room. You can subscribe to the different kinds of alert in Preferences.
