Forum Update - We're back! Ask your questions here

With the ads, here is what happens when I quote a bunch of stuff and possibly need to remove some of the quotes before inserting them in a reply.

The box becomes hidden under the ad and I cannot get to the remove buttons.

I have not found any way to make the box come out on top of the ads.

Other issue is when I am typing in the reply box, and an ad changes, I lose my cursor, I think the ad snatches it, and I discover it, have to place the cursor back in the reply box, click to make it stay there, and start typing from where ever it cut me off at (I may have typed words after it happened and didn't catch it.

The upgrade has made things more difficult for me
What device are you using? Windows, Android, Apple? With my Android tablet & phone the ads were quite intrusive but no issues with Windows + Chrome using an Ad Blocker.

Also, you probably have seen others recommend browsers such as Brave? I use that my tablet & phone and have this forum set as its default home page and only use it to view content here. No ads.

Windows 11 with Chrome. no ad blockers or anything else.

Should not have to jump thru a bunch of hoops just to use the forum. My fix for not being able to delete the unwanted quotes is to put all of them in the post and then delete the unwanted ones. While I was typing this the ad changed and there went my cursor. Again, this should not even be happening. I don't mind the ads, I just ignore them, but when they are interfering with the forum use.........

OK, just tried something. I am using a 34 inch wide screen and usually have the browser on one half and something else, file manager or whatever on the other half. So I gave the browser the whole screen, it moved the ads and RH column out far enough (barely) to eliminate the interference (I think).

But still, the pop up boxes like the quotes, should be ON TOP of the ads, not under them, and yep, ad changes and there goes the cursor again.

I don't disagree, but... for me at least not that many hoops with my Win 11 + Chrome. Just took a couple minutes to install free AdBlock-- no ads.

I've been using it for years with no issues and if you can believe their occasional pop up asking if you want to "upgrade" to their paid version, the app has blocked well over two million ads since I began using it. Again, if you can believe... ;)
