If anyone's heading for Pahrump, Terrible's is having a pretty good promotion. Spend $25 on gas at any Terrible's gas station and get a free night at Terrible's Lakeside RV Resort. We put $75 in gas in the motorhome and $25 in propane and are now sitting here for 4 nights totally free. You can use the free night vouchers right away or hang on to them (no expiration date).

Now if the wind would only die down.

Sorry we missed you in Death Valley,  Daughter's beau was not feeling up to the drive.

If you are a member of Coast 2 Coast then there is an online coupon (Entainterment  book coupon) for Terribles in LV (Free buffet with purchase of another) don't know if there is one for Pahrump.

Wendy:

Does that promo also cover diesel as well as gasoline and propane?  If so, we will try to make a trip p there later in the spring.  Did they say how long the promo would last?

Also good for diesel. Talked to some folks here who had just put in $300 of diesel and were staying 12 nights for free. Don't know how long the promo will last. It says "Management reserves all rights to cancel this offer at anytime."

Terrible's magazine has one whole page with 2 for 1 buffets and 2 for 1 Bingo.

Wow, that is awesome Wendy, depending on the price of fuel.  Any idea what the price is for a gallon of diesel?

Sorry your Broncos did not make the playoffs.  Tough to lose in overtime. I was looking for a Bronco - Ravens matchup.  Also sorry to hear about the untimely death of Williams.

I will tell you this.. I kind of wish I was going home this week... With this wind behind me I'd make it from NV to Detroit on a single tank with 3/4 tank to spare :)

Diesel at Lakeside Chevron is 2.859, in town it's 2.839. You take your receipt into the player's club desk in the casino and they give you a voucher that you take to the RV Park office where you exchange it for a 'gift card' that you then exchange for the free night. Kind of the long way round but hey, it's free.

I thought the wind in Death Valley last week was bad but yesterday's in Pahrump was way worse....kept changing directions, never sure where it was gonna blow us! The wind finally stopped blowing late last night but then it got down to 18 degrees. Mike unhooked the water hose and brought it inside before he went to bed. Glad he did when I watched people beating frozen hoses this morning. People out in all kinds of strange attire this morning trying to stay warm. We commented yesterday that we could have stayed home and been just as warm....of course, there is that pesky wet white stuff at home.

Frozen in Pahrump, Nevada

We did Beatty in weather like that a few years back.  Damn near froze to death.  That country back of the Valley can get really bitter this time of year.  We have since switched our outside Death Valley stays to Panamit Springs on the west side of the park
