Free Tesla Destination Charge Stations at Venture RV in Richfield

I just today discovered they have two free to use Tesla Destination Charge Stations just three RV slots away form me. They are always on, so free to use, 48-amps which usually means ~12KW. Just like the one I use at my two houses, but then called a "Tesla Wall Connector".

No mention of them on Plugshare, so since I am a full Plugshare member, I just today added them Here. My bike charging there is just for show. I have no need to use them here. 120 VAC from my own pedestal works fine for me while here, but I wanted to have it shown for Plugshare. It was a 30- second charge to verify it works and to take a photo. I used a Tesla tap to convert it to my J-1772 inlet, just as I do at my houses for all my EVs except for my Tesla.

I talked to the guy in the Class A Diesel Pusher there first. He knew nothing about the Tesla Charge Stations and was also surprised they are there. I also wanted to explain why I would be so close to his rig for a few minutes to get the info for Plugshare, including photos.

I can charge my motorcycle at 6.4 KW (close to 1C) using those if I am ever in a hurry to charge (very unlikely while here):

Are you sure that those Tesla plugs are not for a Tesla pulling a small trailer and I see the rv plug cabinet in that site also. The trailer plugs in and the car plugs in on different circuits?

The spot has no number it, It can be called "65.5" because there is a site 65 and 66.

No number on the box, unlike all other sites. Has circuit breakers inside labled as "Tesla South" and "Tesla North" and only has a 120 VAC outlet inside, no 14-50R and no RV-30:

Well that is pretty cool, they have made a designated area for those with the electric cars. Wish more rv parks had that thought.

And they are always on, just plug in overnight and get a full charge at no extra cost.

I talked to the camp host here too. Nobody here knows much about those charge stations.

Such as if somebody who is not a guest comes in to get a free charge. Here, the gate is always open, so anybody can just drive in at any time.

So I did NOT put it as "restricted" on Plugshare, because I have no idea if it is or not.

I will keep an eye on it on for Plugshare Check-ins long after I leave here (on Monday and head for Cedar City via Hwy 89).

The AI thread title change----I see AI doesn't know the difference between an AC supply and an EV charger (located INSIDE the EV).

A Tesla Destination Charge Station is no more of a "charger" than is a 120 or 240 VAC outlet.

However, Plugshare doesn't know the difference either, and there they even call a 120 VAC outlet a "charger".

But I did use the correct wording in the title that IE changed to inaccurate.

Thanks, but it is NBD. Even Plugshare calls them "chargers". And that cannot be edited. Besides, there are hundreds of thousands of such on Plugshare. Any place where a charge is possible is called a "charger" on Plugshare, which includes a 120- VAC outlet for those who have all day just to add a few miles.

The only real EV chargers on the road are the DCFC. They bypass the AC input charger in the car and go direct to the HV battery.

I realized I couldn't change the title to something specific, but have a "Regenerate title" button. Voilla! The title was changed to "... Destination Charge Stations ...".

They have them here too, as shown here on Plugshare.

I have not yet looked at them. But they are only 7KW. But that is perfect for my electric motorcycle if I want to charge it fast (unlikely). I can charge it with 6.4 KW max with my external chargers I have with me.

But they want 45 cents per KWH to charge there while I can charge here at my RV site for no additional cost, where I use just 1.4 KW with the OBC (on board charger in the bike). The bike has a 7 KWH battery, my smallest electric motorcycle.
