Bellingham RV Park;
Bellingham, WA, just off the I-5 just north of the downtown area
The park is listed in Woodalls; has web site that you can find by googling
I have stayed there on several occasions--nice, relatively small park with friendly on-site staff
Can't remember the speed, but I do recall it hummed right along.

Icicle River RV Park

Good WIFI  last year.

Blackwell Island, Coeur d'Alene, ID
Stayed there but coverage of wifi was limited, we didn't get good consistent reception

AtRiver's Edge RV Resort, 98304 South Bank Chetco River Road, Brookings, OR 97415 (541) 469-3358.  Coverage can be spotty, but they are diligently working on improving.  Very pleasant place to stay in Oregon's "Banana Belt".

Reception was fine but we were close to the office. Very friendly staff. Two miles from the Grand Ole Opry.

HAPPY HOLIDAY RV RESORT

5 Miles South of Rapid City on Hwy 16

Outstanding speed and reception from 600 feet away.  They also have Ethernet connections in the office if you want to take your laptop there and plug in.  Wifi is free, just ask them for a password.

Great spot for visiting the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore.

and for visiting the North Rim of grand Canyon try RV Corral in Kanab Utah.  Free Wifi there also.

Tom - Tom Gonser of rversonline.org was sort of the inventor of modem friendly terminology and then began to push wi-fi a couple of years ago and encouraged park owners to provide reasonable low cost or no cost wi-fi.

He has a good lisitng compliled over time from the many campground owners who frequent his site as well as readers. I recommend it as a good source.

Hi Leo.

I have no intent to plagarize anyone else's data and I'd really like to hear first hand from RV'ers about their WiFi experiences. But the link will be a useful resource for folks.

Edit: Well that didn't come out right and I didn't mean to imply that you were suggesting I do that.

sort of the inventor of modem friendly terminology

I recall Ed Juge introducing the same thing here and Ed kept a file updated with RVer's first hand reports.

Buckhorn Lake Resort
Kerrville, TX

Excellent WiFi service throughout the park.  We stayed there, but it was a Datastorm users rally, so didn't make much use of the WiFi service, but they did a proper installation with an external antenna on a tower and a repeater for an outlying part of the park.

ROCKWELL R.V. PARK

720 South Rockwell
Oklahoma City, OK 73128
Phone: 405-787-5992, 888-684-3251

I stayed there several times this year. They have free WiFi service through the park, but I have found the signal and speed variable with time and location.  Always get a good high speed signal when in the office. They are located just off I40 art the west edge of Oklahoma City.

We stayed there also. We were almost as far as you could get from the office and had good reception. I think the WIFI is located in the bath house more in the center of the park. Only time it went out was when the remnants of Katrina came through. Lost power for a short time and didn't have WIFI until someone went down and rebooted the computer.

Casey Jones Family Campground, Lake City Fla. in North Central Fla.
phone# 386-755-0471  Execellent, no problems, went there to escape from a hurricane, most campgrounds were full, they gave us one of their snowbirds sites. Also at next exit is an RV service center, we had a minor problem, an elec. 50 to 30 adapter failed, Casey's told us about them, we called a half hr. before closing, they said come right up, we got a new one, and were all set for a week there.cable TV at that site was out due to road work, so he ran a cable to another site for us.....really super great people!

Well, I have made every effort over the years to never being involved in such an activity but it would be especially foolish in this instance given that Tom is a very successful corporate lawyer as well as former Executive Director of American Bar Association.  ::)

Your requested information is much more detailed then appears at rversonline.org so it (rversonline) is more of a starting place then a complete look. I contributed 15 of the ones on the site and did have personal knowledge of them.

The latest not yet on the site, which I gave to Tom yesterday, is Park City RV Resort in Park City, UT along I-80 frontage road (2200 Rasmussen Rd. 435-649-2535 )that just went from pay to free.  http://www.parkcityrvresort.com/  I would expect as good reception as under pay system, which was very good,  or better as I talked to owner this past summer about the requirements and the competitive aspects of free wi-fi.

They are making a multi-million dollar upgrade of this park - selling the sites but some will all ways be available for daily or longer rental. I stayed there this fall and expect to return for a month next summer, if the Lord is willing.

Don,

That's good to know. I like the park but wish it didn't cost so much!

>> we camp like everyone else I suspect? but I do prefer 50amp elec. so I don't have to be selective<<

We travel much different than you do...We like to use the secondary roads & go to places that are uncrowded & scenic. I much prefer to dry camp & usually find the most spectacular places while doing so. I'd rather spend my time looking at the buttes in Monument Valley than hanging out at the casinos...This New Year excepted as we will be spending it with several other RV Forum folks at Laughlin, NV.

Take a look at my signature to see where we now are & guess if there is free WI-Fi available.<G>

Terry, yeah you can have all the Boondocking ya can stand, we're retired folks and will keep our creature comforts...thank you very much! but lordy you should see our photo's albums been to the Grand Canyon, camped in the bottom of Palo Duro Canyon, and on and on...so like that saying goes whatever floats yer boat!!!!!!!!!!! Got two digital camera's and a 35mm, love to get on WiFi with my niece in TN who is diabaled and send photo's, chat or play a game all on Free WiFi, just Luv it!
