$1.78.9/L in Vancouver today, the highest in North America  Locally it is $1.43.9, diesel is $1.35.9 which means my ctd holds over $175 bucks. :'( Sure puts a crimp in summer travel plans.

Fuel creeping close to $3.00 in Delaware. Probably be $4.00 by the end of May when we head out for a month along the east Coast with the grandkids.

Raleigh NC. Regular unleaded is $2.779. Diesel holding at $2.859 where it has been for several months.

I will be happy to pay much more for gas as long as we try and keep American money from going to Iran and Venezuela.  One word, sanctions.  That is definitely the difference politically  :))

Prices always go up in "summer driving season".

$3.08 today here in NE Illinois.

You mean prices always go up with the more regionally diverse and difficult to blend summer gasolines required by the EPA.  See https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15339380/the-vapor-rub-summer-versus-winter-gasoline-explained/

There is currently talk in Washington about increasing the federal tax on motor fuels, they think it is a good time since it isn't an election year.

It Would be also great if they would put an additive in to prevent Algae from forming when used in Small engines: Motorcycles; Snowmobiles; Generators; Lawnmowers, etc.

Algae is primarily a diesel fuel problem - I don't think it affects gasoline much, whether small engine or large.  The problem for any petroleum fuel is that the shelf life is limited, sometimes as little as 3 months (even less in a small engine fuel tank).

Try Ethanol free gas. https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=OR

The Ethanol is what can mess up your small engines or engines that deal with water.

Tekonsha, MI. several stations here on M-60 between I-69 and Old US-27 (I-69 now bears teh US-27 Designation as well() 2.839 less 15 cents cause I'm a MEMBER for the first 20 gallons. and the pump stops at 20 gallons.. I'm spending the night so 20 tonight, 20 tomorrow,  (I have less than 100 MIles to parked for ther rest of the month and then some)  Exit 25 and ther RV park is 3 miles off Exit 97 same road.

I like this little burg where the Prodigy P-3 is made.... I graduated Tekonsha HIGH long. long ago.

$2.67 regular and $2.89 diesel in Osceola county Florida, prices are dropping.  Can't complaint too much since it is still under $3.00 and I'm going to buy it anyway.

Ouch. I just converted 1.789 l/gal to US gallon price = $5.02  No wonder the OP is not happy.

Algae is not the problem. It's the ethanol that is harmful to the small engines, motorcycles and older engines. The gov't actually encourages and subsidizes the ethanol producers. Plus it costs more to produce a gallon of ethanol and  producing it makes more pollution than refining gasoline. It also reduces the gas mileage.
10% ethanol is the max limit for these engines.
The price of gas has been fairly low for the past few years. Now the oil companies want to get back into the PROFIT market.
The US is the number one producer of oil and natural gas, but most of it is sent overseas.
