I have been told that the power switch on my furion control panel is as follows:
switch in the in position=battery is off; the switch is pulled out= battery is on. I was told that when connected to shore power that the switch should be pulled out. OK. Now what position should the switch be in when hooked up to the tow vehicle while traveling down the road?

A picture of the panel might help but in general the battery isolation switch would be so that the battery is in the circuit when traveling so that it can supply the RV and the tow vehicle could recharge the RV's battery.

the switch should be in the out position? Meaning the battery is on?
I do not know what position the switch is in for the battery to be on but you can easily determine that by disconnecting all outside power and then try the switch in both positions. If the lights work without any outside power connected, the battery is connected and that is what you want.

With both in and out positions what you are told is not always accurate.
But I see Kirk has described how to figure out what IS truth and what is not.

For towing... Well there are two ways one is better.
At the7 pin plug the two connections near the Square positioning "KEY" on the outside of the plug.
Use a fuse say 10-15 amp to jumper them (you may need to bend the blades on the fuse

Are the tail lights on? If so note the switch position and change it
Are the tail lights STILL on.. If so then set switch to OFF for towing
If the tail lights go out. Leave switch ON when towing

Or you can use a standared 2 prong universal flasher to jumper the two connections (blades already aligned The lights will flash if the battery is connected to the plug.

Useful if you need to Drop the trailer on the side of the road to go pick up a spare tire.
