Member Title: What kind of gas prices are you seeing now?
Members report fast-rising fuel costs across many regions, with regular gas commonly ranging from the high $2s in parts of Texas, Louisiana, and Indiana to roughly $5.00 or more in California. I use Gas Buddy but it has it's warts. Just a couple days ago it showed a discount for a Valero station but when we got there the station was shut down.

Auburn and Reno is around five bucks per gallon. Eastern NV (such as Ely, NV) is less than four bucks, more than a buck cheaper than western NV.

I assume Reno gets its gasoline from CA., unlike eastern NV.

$5.659 for regular and $6.499 for diesel in Oakhurst, CA near my sister's house. My RV is parked there for the duration and I'm using my 45 MPG Mirage for day trips and finding motels for overnighters. Even at $5 a gallon I can drive over 100k miles before the car + fuel approaches the price of an electric car. Starting the countdown at 13k miles so far.

I remember paying $6,000 for my brand new 1978 VW Rabbit Diesel. After the oil embargo, when there were long lines at the gas station and the cost of fuel was quite high, I could have sold it for $12,000. Don't recall the price of gas at its highest but it eventually it came back to a more reasonable amount. Then so I would feel better, I would think of the Brits and Europeans who had been paying dearly for fuel for as long as I can remember.

Prices have been a steady $3.49 here in Louisiana for over a week now, so at least they have stopped going up
